Just saw this, why is nobody talking but it? It's the best animated movie I've seen this year, after Zootopia. It looked good and some jokes were actually funny. Also that /pol/ plot tho
>>82753543
*about it
Also I really loved the personalities all the main birds had, exept for Chuck, he was just plain annoying at times
i really hope you are lying
this movie looks like Minions of 2016
>>82753543
Not in Canada until the 20th.
>>82754206
The field for "best of 2016" right now is, what, Zootopia, Norm of the North, Ratchet & Clank, and this? Yeah, really close second place there.
>>82754245
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""Close""""""""""""""""""""""""""" second place.
>>82753543
I just got back from the theatre and I thought it was pretty great
I mean, it wasnt amazing, and it was exactly what you expect from it, but I actually enjoyed myself and didnt hate it
Definitley worth watching though, it gets a bad wrap for the stupid idea
>>82753543
It's adapted from a video game and that's usually a big warning sign. Although it should be noted that it currently has the highest RT rating of any vydia adaptation in history.
Besides since when is quality what determines what /co/ talks about?
le ebin /pol/ meme will skyrocket this movie's popularity. It already has, in fact.
Implying Angry Birds is even a video game.
>>82755247
It's a walking simulator like Gone Home.
>>82755286
It's for the same audience who call Depression Quest a game.
>>82754987
>bad wrap
It's "bad rap" or "bad rep". A bad wrap is just a shitty burrito.
>>82753543
>why is nobody talking but it?
Because so far every discussion I've seen degenerates into
>that /pol/ plot tho
>>82755024
>Although it should be noted that it currently has the highest RT rating of any vydia adaptation in history.
We're not counting Wreck-it Ralph since it was an original character, right?
>>82754245
Best b8 I've seen all year. Good job broseph.
>>82755247
>>82755286
>>82755309
How is it not a video game?
>>82755975
It's as much as a video game as Minions is a animation flick.
Meaning, it's more of a Facebook meme for single mothers.
>>82755024
It's not like the game had any story to adapt in the first place. That kinda gives the movie more freedom than something like ratchet and clank.
>>82755247
>>82755286
>>82755309
It's more like a flash game you'd play on newgrounds.
Shitty animated movie based on a shitty shovelware Crush The Castle reskin that's only popular due to being on a useless piece of technology.
At least the /pol/ shit makes it more interesting.
/pol/ plot??
>>82756074
>>82756071
>>82753543
Now I'm kinda interested?
>>82756031
Minions is an animation flick. A bad one, but it is.
>>82755891
Correct, adaptation means there's a source material.
>>82756055
Most vidya's strength isn't story anyway, that's pretty much the reason they fail as adaptation material: they barely tell stories and they tell them in a way that isn't adaptable. So the writers just hack something around the premise and call it a script.
So what's left? Quirky colorful character designs? Maybe if the world was filled with Sonic fans.
So yeah, being a video game adaptation is only a negative to me.
>is 63% in RT now
is this the most succesful videogame movie at date ?
tfw this is literally the best-reviewed video game movie of all time

>>82756115

Immigrants (the pigs) are evil and they are plotting in secret while pretending to be upstanding citizens.
>>82756154
Critically? By miles.
Second one (pic related) sits at 44%

>>82756179
Which isn't totally like a current situation at all.
Surprised the usual suspects haven't complained yet.
>>82756178
now I'm totally going to see it. Nice to see a story with a more productive moral than "you can be anything you want to be" when you can't
>>82753543
Are you a little kid that likes to play apps on his iphone?
Than this movie isn't for me.
>>82756294
I just hope the stupid humor doesn't rub on me.
>>82753543
>>>/pol/
please drop dead and die on the way, thanks
>>82753543
>It's the best animated movie I've seen this year, after Zootopia
theres only been 2 animated movies this year
>>82756427
Norm of the North
Kung Fu Panda 3
Ratchet and Clank
>>82756325
You go to /pol/, so you have nothing to worry about there.
>>82756654
>implying /pol/ is a separate entity from 4chan
>>82756178
Some of those are a bit far fetched, but yeah, I can see the similarities in most.
Puts the movie in entirely different context.
Also heard that it has some very risqué humor. Not just "meant for your parents" type of stuff but just plain tasteless jokes.
Might bother watching for that.
>>82756154
>is this the most succesful videogame movie at date ?
Not sure what kind of success we are talking about, but the most critically acclaimed videogame has to be Mortal Kombat. Other than the toned done violence, it is a perfect conversion of the game and makes for a fun movie as well - not some super great flick, but more like a bit campy hong kong action movie.
>>82756217
Spirits Within bankrupted Square. They only survived cause Sony pumped money in them.
>birds are diverse and of many different colors
>pigs are culturally monolithic, fat, and ruled by a charismatic leader
>their plot literally involves talking away all the birds' eggshttps://cbhd.org/content/forced-sterilization-native-americans-late-twentieth-century-physician-cooperation-national-
Right, this is a '/pol/' movie, kek
>>82756294
An weaboo being a petty edgelord. How sad.
>>82756427
Just wait until Kubo comes and assrapes all the furry shit.
Even the trailer made me shit myself.
>>82756906
Pretty much. But desperate conservatives gotta desperate.
>>82756258
Hence, "/pol/ plot"
So will Zootopia still be playing when this comes out? Might want a good animated film to wash the awfulness.
now i am legit interested
>tfw living in a world where an Angry Birds movie is better than Ratchet & Clank
Fucking HOW?
>>82757164
How is that edgelord?
>>82753543
>Best movie I've seen after Zootopia
>Zootopia was only two months ago
Sure thing.
>>82753543
>jason sudeikis
>josh gad
>danny mcbride
>keegan michael key
>bill hader
>that meme midget from game of thrones
>>82753543
It was alright. I enjoyed some of the jokes, even some of the more juvenile ones (the lake of wisdom). Didn't love all of them (the opening lowered my expectations a bit), but I did enjoy them.
Characters were 'eh'. The animation was pretty alright.
All in all, it was an alright kids movie. Enjoyed watching it with my little brother.
>>82757185
it was that bad?!
>>82757349
Not everyone is a movie connoisseur that watches a new movie every week.
>>82758065
Name one notable animated movie that has been released between Zootopia's release and now.
>>82756294
>Nice to see a story with a more productive moral than "you can be anything you want to be" when you can't
That's literally what Zootopia is about at first
>>82756294
t. someone who gave up on his dreams because they were too hard.
>>82756144
Anyone who thinks Bioshock wouldn't make a great movie hasn't read the novelization.

I think the first few Pokemon movies were well-received in Japan.
