Honestly as someone who has been mostly ambivalent to the show but keeps watching this is the first season that I've been excited about ever I think. I said this is the Dingo thread but I've kept waiting for it to reach those heights and this season is the closest they've come so far. The joke construction seems to be the top priority as opposed to hitting character beats or making a spy plot that has to make sense. The animation is the best it's been too, which doesn't really matter but is a nice bonus.

naw the only problem with archer vice was that it was pushing them too far too fast down a road they shouldn't have been so ready to go down. the only one with a realistic journey in that was lana
basically it felt to me like they lacked a 'The Doctor is Sin' moment where they at least TRIED to avoid becoming the bad guys, and then failed in doing so

Not the best season, but strong, definitely not the worst. The Barry episode was probably the weakest overall, but we got to see Malory being badass.
The most recent one kind of petered out though, it felt like a two parter that they only had material for one and a half episodes for.

I've been enjoying it so far, Archer especially has been in top form in the episodes, that nice mix of competent at his actual job, yet amusingly dumb with really simple things. The big problem for me has been the need to include the whole cast unnecessarily, they come off as more annoying than anything with the few exceptions like Kreiger and Cyril. Also I will admit Launa has been insufferable since the baby came along, but she was alright in the most recent episode so I'm hopeful she'll get back in form.
Overall, worth watching for sure.

I like that they keep consequences between episodes, like the ever increasing injuries of ray, archers scars and tattoos, the plot moves forward even though none of the characters really change, the plot just puts them in new settings.

Half of the jokes in the series are based on some form of continuity. It's what makes the show work.
Though one of the main reasons I love the show is the character development. Watching Archer change over the seasons. It's rare for a comedy protagonist to actually become nice/more sympathetic over time. Usually it works the other way around.

I don't know why people don't like Archer Vice.
I thought it was a very good, albeit simplistic explanation on how the U.S. government uses the C.I.A. to sell drugs to finance and instigate and/or continue illegal wars that never should've been started in the first place, and that the U.S. as a country should never have gotten themselves involved with in the first place. Or are people so focused on the plots and nuances of each script and episode that they just ignore the fact that we financed the war in Viet Nam, Nicaragua, and El Salvador by smuggling and selling heroine and cocaine, and we're still doing it today in places like Afghanistan, Iraq, and other countries in the middle east where Al Queda and ISEL are operating. Or don't people see the connection between the war in the middle east and the spike in heroine sales in the inner city, just like there was a spike in the sale of crack and cocaine when we were funding the contras? As Sterling would say, READ A FUCKING BOOK, PEOPLE! (I don't care if people think this rant belongs in /pol/, it's been happening for over 50 years!)
