It's basically half the Russo's, half Mackie. The Russo's have had a hand in ever movie he's made an appearance in and every movie he's going to appear in, so there's a continuity of character there. They know his abilities, they keep him consistent to how they've portrayed him and they look for cool stuff to do with him in every movie to keep up as Captain America's bestblackfriend. And Mackie has charisma oozing off of every pore, he's a joy to watch, on screen and off.
So, will /co/ be willing to accept him when they promote him to Capitan Falcon in the MCU? It´s gonna happen, sooner or later.

Helicopters aren't known to be the most stable aircraft. The sudden impact of an object weighing, say, 200lbs, moving at high speed would destabilize one pretty well.
The crazier part is he didn't break every bone in his body doing it, or miss & get hit by the tail rotor.

I wouldn't mind a War for the Shield type deal with him and Bucky against all the other government super soldier projects. If it does happen it won't be before Bucky Cap, but if they do it justice I won't mind. Sam had the misfortune of getting his turn right in the middle of Marvel doing a Diversity Blitzkrieg which managed 1 in 2 actual decent ethnic minority characters taking on legacy mantles at best.

They've shown him picking up and using the shield, pretty skilfully at that, in all 3 Cap movies and I thought the general consensus is that's a nod to him taking on the Cap mantle when Evans bails.

Powers/abilities, not really.
But Mackie does for Falcon what RDJ did for Ironman, and that is make him a a really likeable character. And the Russos or whoever came up with the stunts and choreography NAILED what a flying character could do in a movie. By the time I get done with the airport all I wanted was to see Ironman War, Machine and Falcon in some version of those Redbull plane maneuvering races.

I've seen them use it a couple of times in different interviews.
Mackie Falcon is a great addition to Cap's roster because he adds a little edge to the duo and points out stuff that annoys Cap but he'd be to polite to complain about. Much in the same way that Rhodey smoothes Tony a bit and makes him calm down from time to time.
His choreography is also kick-ass and a great complement to Cap's abilities. He's basically Tails. Even if he ends up always losing, he's actually the bait most of the times and the fact that he doesn't much care for being the leader or having the spotlight makes him the perfect Wingman while also giving him his own distinct personality without the burden of the shield.
I'd watch a movie about all the little groups interacting with eachother without action sequences in an anthology or something. That'd be really neat.

While I'm still not in love with the idea of the Avengers just mowing down their enemies like Castle (though CW did tone it waaaaay down from AoU), I really love this take on Falcon. He's clever, but not too quippy. Strong, but in a yeah-it's-a-mechanical-birdsuit-but-fuck-you-still-kind-of-a-real-person way.
