Columbine was kinda complicated. The whole school had a bullying problem. But I mean the WHOLE school, like even popular jocks were picked on by their friends. From a couple kids accounts, there was some bullying toward Eric and Dylan, but not more than the other students at the school, but, it's extremely difficult to tell what level the bullying was. In addition, most reports say that they would pick on other students. How much? Hard to say, especially in the wake of a tragedy like this, people tend to invent their own truth unintentionally.
We can say decently certain that Eric and Dylan were kinda considered at least somewhat popular. They weren't /r9k/ in their basement. They were those sorta kids you see a lot in things like AP classes, somewhat geeky, a little smart, but also willing to dick around and maybe smoke outside of school kind of things. They were real people, not a character from some bad 80's movie. They went to parties, they drank at prom (if I remember right, they got their weapons from this super christian girl one of them was porking).
Also, the people who died didn't really know the two very well. After they botched their pipe bombs, which was supposed to take out most of the cafeteria, they didn't really seem to know what to do, so they just went around picking off people till it was over.

For me at least, it was quite similar to the PowerPuff Girls. It was an action show with a female protagonist that wasn't an obnoxious chick about everythinglooking at YOU, Totally Spies.
