Was Moonbeam City any good?
>>
>>82679042
Not really. But Pizazz was really really hot.
>>
>>82679042

It was worse than bad, it was forgettable
>>
>>82679042
looked great, wasn't funny
>>
>>82679042
The art and music were great. The show itself was mediocre.
>>
I could seriously watch it just for the aesthetics and music. The writing was 4/10 though.

It had potential. The artstyle was excellent and the music was good, but the writing was trying too hard to be "le 80's Archer with 200% more memes lol" and the show suffered.

The last two episodes were the best IMO.
>>
>>82679042
It was ok. Music and art were top notch, jokes were rather hit and miss, but I remember second half of the season being actually kind of funny for the most part.

>>82679874
I really really liked bowling cartoons serial killer.
>>
Once more
Pizazz was the only good thing about it

Yes it's fantastic. It takes a few episodes to get on it's feet, but anyone that says that episode 5 and onwards isn't gold is a fucking pleb.
>>
The Mayor seriously has one of the sexiest voices I've ever heard in my life.
>>
I really liked it. Mostly the art style and music was what was I loved. The comedy was good enough. I hope it gets a season 2, but, doubt it.

Already cancelled thanks to Daniel Tosh, Trey Parker & Matt Stone.
>>
>>82680476
Wait, what did they do?
>>
>>82680532

It's generally considered that Tosh's bathroom scribbles & South Park are the only animated series Comedy Central wants on it's show anymore, with South Park on only because it's been there FOREVER.

come on CC Tash isn't that funny get rid of his ass and replace tosh.0 with another internet meme show
>>
It was a cool idea but it just kinda never really hit any noteworthy comedy. I don't know if it's just a case of "cool idea on paper, but not so much in implementation" or maybe they could have done more with the material other than hit all the really obvious targets but like someone said, it was just forgettable in the end.
>>
>>82681270
Rad is a pure and noble man, he only has sex with his beloved after they've been joined together in holy matrimony
>>
>>82679774
I remember the only joke that made me laugh was the banana peel created a car crash with a stock sound effect.
>>
>>82682269
There's a comic coming out and that's it. CC needs to keep Tosh around so there's one less TV block for Memewick to ruin.
>>
>>82680476
>Trey Parker & Matt Stone.

To be fair, last season was one of SP's best and certainly the greatest that show's had in years.
>>
>>82685785
>last season was one of SP's best
No it wasn't. It wasn't that good at all.
>>
>>82681270

Rad thought he was his sister at the time. Even if the perceived blood-relation wasn't a factor for him, I'm sure he didn't like her at all since she was probably abusive towards him growing up making any sexual attraction towards her non-existent. And then there was that slur... Besides, she probably wasn't attracted enough to him making the whole thing a no-go.
>>
>>82680612
I honestly thought that they would only have BB for a couple of seasons. They can't honestly expect that to suffice when people get sick of South Park, do they? Does it still pull in ratings? Does Tosh pull in at all? I didn't even know he had a new special.
>>
>>82685826

It was.

You were either looking at the old seasons through nostalgia goggles or just too triggered to see it.
>>
>>82679042
only if you like your waifus RAPED
>>
>>82685893
I don't get nostalgic about South Park since I only started watching a couple of years ago its just that making fun of SJWs doesn't mean its funny.
>>
>>82685826

The most of the jokes were pretty "meh" couple that with people's preconceptions of it being an Archer clone and compound it with the fact that it was a fairly late night showing and expensive voice actors and it was basically a death sentence for the program.

That said I still loved it. I'm a sucker for '80s shit, though. The look and style of the show were pretty to look at and the voice talent was actually pretty good for the most part. Most of the pop-culture references were actually pretty subtle. Also, Pizzaz was a top-shelf waifu.
>>
I really enjoyed it. Loved the art style. I also wasn't surprised it was canceled. Pretty clearly they wanted it to be Archer instead of letting it become its own thing.
>>
I really loved the art style, and some of the episodes were genuinely really funny. But a few of the other ones, especially towards the beginning, were weak. The bowling one was the best overall.
>>
>>82685826

If you look at the last 5 or so seasons, S19 easily tops them all.
>>
>>82680213

I liked her. She was the meek, most competent, but oft-ignored member of The Old Gang. She reminds me of the that cute and nice co-worker who's a complete push-over and can't stand up for herself. In my headcanon she's a virgin.

Pizzaz is the superior waifu, though.
>>
The only thing to actually enjoy is the art of the heads themselves; the bodies were just awful and generically animated from 90s human cartoons
>>
I personally loved it but see the big flaws. I wish there was some more careful planning as it had potential.
>>
You think it was good enough to justify S2 if not for Comedy Central trying so hard to kill it?
>>
I want Pizazz to chew on my dick
>>
>>82679042
I really enjoyed it. It wasn't great, but pretty solid.

A lot of people, including me, went in with expectations of it being an Archer clone, which really wasn't good for the show.I really didn't enjoy it at first, largely because of my expectations, but as it went along, and I started to appreciate it for what it was, I enjoyed it a lot more, and even found that going back and watching the first few episodes, I enjoyed them a lot more.
>>
its fun, especially with friends
the aethetics and animation i really enjoyed, hard to take my eyes off it
some jokes were off but theyre prob not meant for my sense of humor, the ones that nailed it were great

a damn shame too be canceled, its one of the better ones we got in terms of adult cartoons

This.

Elizabeth Banks should consider doing more voice acting. Her voice is a miracle of the universe.
>>
A complete waste of a fantastic art style.
>>
>>82680213
Mah niggah!

And to everybody else: Moonbeam City was NOTHING like Archer. I enjoyed both, equally! (It's a crying shame that CC didn't renew MC)
>>
>>82679042
It was a fun ride, and that makes it better than the majority of stuff aired on that channel.

If the writing was good as the art style, than this show would of had another season.

what killed this show was the writing. Having asshole characters that aren't that funny or likeable. Nothing wrong with assholes characters, but they still need to be likeable.
It felt like they went with the Archer approach for the show. except they're aren't Archer. They should have made the characters funnier likeable instead.
kind of sucks when the main character is Mr. perfect and nothing phases him besides not being number 1 cop.
Sucks, this show had a shot at being something but squandered the potential.

>I pooped in the poop and the poop got in my mouth and I liiiikkeed it

>>82686846
I woulda given it a season 2 to see where they could take it, but if it didn't separate itself by then cancel after. A lot of shows flesh out better in the 2nd season when they have a better idea of what works and doesn't work for the show.
>>
>>82679937
>I really really liked bowling cartoons serial killer.

So did I. It showed the potential of the character dynamics while actually adhering to the cop premise. The whole show would've worked better if it had played it's concept more "straight", just with more absurd, comedic moments. Instead it ended up being "we're cops, but we do things unrelated to being cops. Isn't that zany?".
>>
>>82688818
Totally agree with you there. The first handful of episodes had characters with interesting potential (Dazzle had the autistic artist angle, Rad was the competent cop that got his shit pushed in, etc) but really weak jokes. And while the jokes improved with time, they lost anything that made the characters stand out (Dazzle got stuified, Rad was the buttmonkey) and the plotting basically turned into a gag reel.
>>
>>82680439
Shame. After the last two episodes I thought they'd finally settled into a good groove to develop from. A second season could have been pretty good following on from that.
>>
>>82679042
The finale was alright. I guess.

The celebrity VAs likely kept it from a second season. There probably was enough interest generated during the second half, but not enough to cover the cast budget.

I feel like you guys are riding S19s dick super hard because it was pandering to the anti-SJW crowd. If they start taking the piss out of you guys this coming season everyone will say South Park is shit again, regardless of the quality of its writing.
