After seeing Civil War with a friend who doesn't keep up with Marvel comics, I mentioned hilariously overkill editorial's handling of replacing the mutants with the Inhumans was. His knowledge of everything extended to the movies and Agents of SHIELD. So I explained the fact that Marvel writers aren't allowed to create new mutants. Then I explained the Terrigen mist. Then I explained the sterility. Then I explained M-Pox. Then I explained the further prejudice due to M-Pox. The look on his face was priceless.I just remembered that I didn't tell him about them living in limbo and being attacked by demons.

There's reason to be continually disappointed.
Inhumans will never replace the X-Men, no matter how fake chinese x-mahn they make them. X-Men are fucking huge - if their film rights were actually owned by Marvel, their movies would probably be outselling the Avengers stuff pretty easily. Casuals and nerds love them like nothing else. Perlmutter will never win against 50+ years of the X-Men being burned into the public subconscious, especially if he tries to do so by introducing terrible ripoffs.
What this shows, though, is that he's refusing to learn the lesson he's constantly being taught by the reception to all this stuff (in terms of sales): that his crusade failed before it began. He's refusing to back down, and, no matter how vain his efforts are, all X-Men stories will be about making way for nuhumans until he either succeeds (which is never happening) or he dies (which has to happen eventually).
X-Men won't vanish, but they will continue to be sub-par.
