They can do whatever they want with him. Consider Spidey's ridiculous popularity, I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't trying to shoehorn him into everything.
Hell, FOX is probably trying to figure out how to get him in the next FF movie.

ok so when spidey gets his black suit, right and meets up with black cat, ok follow me, he gets caught up in a robbery with ant man and wasp doing the same thing, you know for science! Super hero fight occurs plus black cat!

then then the eeeen! spidey ends up with the goods and has to figure out how to get them back with out people thinking it was spiderman. Black cat flirts more to get dah goods. ant man gets the goods instead takes it too pym and he uses more science on it and makes a mutated ant and now spidey has to take it down with ant man and wasp.
At this point I believe Marvel will deliver everything we ever wanted to see.
