>tfw you finally "got" Superman
>>82582766
care to enlighten us?
>>82582766
>tfw you finally got a fictional character created to sell stuff to people and wasted so much time on it you illuded yourself about it having some kind of depth and special meaning other than being a product retooled every decade to be sold again and again
Reconsider your life

show me on the doll where the comic store owner touched you
Remember that one time Superman had the ability to project a tiny superman that has all of his powers?
>>82583536
>This could be said about any superhero ever.
>>82583803
Perhaps this is an important realization to have.
>>82583803
name one.
>>82583875
Captain America, Batman, daredevil, Reed Richards, Tony Stark. I know you'll probably say "Well they fail and they make mistakes" ans something among those lines, but the point is that they are so much better than normal people in certain areas that, to many, they would never be relatable. People have to understand that supeheroes aren't as weak as normal people. In one way or another, they are meant to be stronger. Either to amaze or to inspire or just to entertain. Trying to bring heroes down to our level is kind of pathetic. It's like when landwhales try to make barbie as fat and ugly as them.
>>82583674
that was some classic shit right there
>>82584652
>in certain areas
But not every area at once, which is what does make them relatable. Superman is not immune to the rules of characterization.
>>82584980
Of course he's not. In many iterarions he has been tired, given up for some time, been consumed by rage and frustration, been uncapable of solving problems/saving people/live up to his legend, etc. But if you refer to him as "more perfect than anyone else" because he's superior to humankind in some aspects then the same could be samy of any other superhero.

FOR THE LAST TIME, STOP USING SCRIPTS
>>82582766
This is true. As an angsty drama ridden little fuck of a teenager, I was more drawn to Batman, and hated Superman because everything was "too easy" for him. My only exposure at the time were the respective animated series, and had never read an actual Superman book.
Years later, a friend of mine let me borrow "Kingdom Come", and that was the turning point that turned me into a Superman fag.
I realized how most of my peers idolized edgy antiheroes and how their personalities reflected so. Bitter, vengeful, and vindictive. Blaming the world, but taking no responsibility for themselves. I didn't want to be that way, and appreciated more the kind of character Superman is, and knew what sort of person I wanted to become.
His characterization may have changed with the eras, but I still value what he was meant to be in concept. A beacon of hope.
We may not have super powers, but we can be as good as we can, and set good example for others.

Whether or not Superman has powers doesn't change this. Even if he was simple farmer Clark Kent, he'd still do good.
>>82582766
>Clearly Bate
>But gets doubles
Well, I suppose you're telling the truth, But I don't have to be happy about it.
>>82585989

You don't believe in the greater good do you?
>learning this from one of the strongest beings on earth
If that is all you see, then you either really don't get it, or just don't want to. I bet you wouldn't do good unless it benefited you personally.

it's glorious, desu

I'm not mad, I'm happy you at least understand.

To each his own, I guess. Now go and be a productive member of society.
How come batman is never shown to be attracted to a minority?
Why are all kryptonians shown as whites?

>Why are all kryptonians shown as whites?

The Kryptonians of the island of Vathlo are black. Val Zod is black. And Talia al Ghul is arabic.

>>82587634
Clark, is that you?
>>82585908
That's the message Superman conveys, yes. He's regularly outmatched or has to face scenarios where punching doesn't help. Yet he never gives up and always sees the best outcome.
The superpowers are just a symbol and special effects to highlight his good character.
>>82587842
Red radiation, UV light is the only reason aninal life has dark skin in the first place.
>>82583498
What are you even doing on /co/? Literally everything on this board that we talk about was made to sell merchandise.
>>82587882
That's from Action Comics 9 but Vathlo is a very old concept. And New Krypton had Kryptonians that looked like other races too, not just black and white.
Why do people who don't read comics have such misconceptions about them? I don't make shit up about shows I don't watch.
He is q fictional character. There it's nothing to "get" about him.
>>82587563
>tfw you finally "got" SupermanBut Blue Beetle II is still your favorite DC hero
>>82588047
>He is q fictional character.
Q! So you're the one behind this shitposting.
>tfw you finally "got" Superman & Batman
The best isn't one or the other, but both working together.
This goes for the entire families.
>>82588075
is Grant Morrison for real? sometimes it feels too much, you know?
>>82582766
I was 8 years old when All-Star came out and it was the first Superman thing I read after my older brother told me to, so I never really had any misconceptions. Before that I watched STAS.I still love All-Star but I don't understand the "not muh" faggots who cried and whined over New52 Supes. Especially Morrison's run.
>>82586058
It's about taking what you have and making the world a better place because of it.
Emma Watson is the promoted face of feminism right now, but that doesn't young girls can't look up to her because they aren't actors.
>tfw you finally "got" Batman
>>82588235
>you know?
No? It's awesome that his Superman used his powers/senses to their fullest, combined with superior intellect and morals rather than slugging it out.
>>82588075
Too bad grant gave the "real" ending to Millar
Would have been cool to see lex turn nice have a bunch of kids until Luther because house of L...then El...then jor-el

>create the perfect standard formula for wholesome, safe entertainment.
I hope DC doesn't do this (and I'm glad they haven't). Marvel have that, if I want a dumb flick with some quips and CGI Marvel know what they are doing. Plus they pump out so many of them, it's not like I don't have enough.
I'm happy for DC to keep having a go at a different angle, even if they miss I'm still gonna watch, I'm a /co/ kid anyway.
>>82588841

It's purposely in a Liefeld-like style to suit the modern era/incarnation of that Supreme. There's numerous eras/aesthetics on display usually two to an issue.
