From his debut to his first team-up with Lex Luthor ever (not to mention his first major retcon), I'm storytiming five of Brainiac's first appearences.

End of this issue, but definitely not the end of Brainiac or Kandor.
Brainiac doesn't appear a lot in this issue, but he's important.

>>82552806
Why would it get in the way of Krypton exploding?
>>82552182
>Space suit back to earth
hahahahahaha
>>82556483
Maybe not Krypton exploding, but the fact that the story ends in such a sad note, especially regarding this new character Lyla. I was expecting it to pull some excuse for her to survive or still comunicate with Superman or something, but I guess I underestimated it.
>>82556791
They can have honest-to-god sad stories in the Silver Age.
>>82552259
Man, this Brainiac is weirdly expressive compared to later versions.
>Johns Adventure Comics cliffhanger with the Lex/Brainiac baby will never come back
TY OP. Really liked the 1st story a lot.
>>82553761
>>82553837
Imagine being Brainiac and seeing an army of tiny supermen from Kandor flying towards you, knowing they are filled with anger after what you did to them.
i love his shit polo shirt

Was this unretconed? I keep reading Brainiac II and 5 actually are decendants of the original.
>>82552182
>Clark jumped ship and superman appears.
>Clearly there is no way he's superman.
Come on clark.
you could've thought of something better in like 2 seconds.

Krypton's brightest ladies and gentlemen.

>>82552374
Siegel's Superman's Return to Krypton>>>Moore's for the Man who Has Everything
>>82564405
Yeah, it was unretconned.
>>82554275
the daughter of brainiac 5 and Supergirl would obviously be called SuperBrain and wear a purple jumpsuit with an S shield on it.
i mean come on Ross.
>>82561186
I remember Reboot Brainiac 5 also having a pet monkey named Koko. Also, in Brainiac 5's first appearance he reveals thatKoko was responsible for Brainiac's death.
>>82553684
>Superman uses Zone-o-Phone
>WE ARE GOING TO KILL YOU SUPERMAN YOU IDIOT HAHAHAHA
>...why did i make this thing?
(I guess he could use it to talk to Mon-El but it was pretty rare anyway)
>>82567972Koko's a hero. He deserves a statue.
1000 years into the future and they are only up to Brainaic 5
(though I think they mention that they have longer life spans)
>>82568131
>longer life spans
Plus some of them are AIs.
>>82561186
Yes. In many.
Brainiac appears with a pretty different design in his first cover, but that design went to become his official one.
>>82568131
Depends. Some incarnations it's them having very long lifespans, sometimes it's just that they went a long time without somebody earning the Brainiac title.
>>82552242
I'm just imagining Brainiac with a Schwarzenegger accent and now I can't stop laughing.
>>82552421
So does that mean Red Sun energy can actually give humans powers?
Reading bump
Do you guys wish Koko was used more in modern comics like I do? I liked him showing up in Geoff's Brainiac story.
>>82552306
>man sleeping in gas chamber with his monkey
Michael Jackson was a Superman fan, huh?
There is an issue from the era that was storytimed some time ago about Superman in his deathbed, i think it referenced the girl from the second story here.
>>82552339
This is the one included in the anniversary collection.
>>82552859
Force fingers, super gadgets - ah.
>>82552947
>>82553049
They shouldn't say.
Most of this is after The Flash 105, so it's definitely Silver Age.
>>82553090
"Many scientist believe" - sigh.
>>82552339
Wow, so that bottle stuff is cannon from day 1 eh.
>>82552558
wow a old superman story that is actually touching, amazing
Golf Shirt Brainiac was the best
Just give him some pants and the silver age design is great
>>82568212
Brainiac 2 was the fake son of Robo-Brainy who travelled back to Colu and defeated the Computer Tyrants
I like to imagine Robot Brainiac experimented on him a bit to make him a little smarter/longer lived than the other Coluans.
>>82580143
Maybe fake son, it's unclear if he's a clone or the actual child of Brainiac after all the retcons. But he's (usually) a 10th level intellect as opposed to Brainiac's originally 12th level and the Coluan average of 8th level or w/e it is right now.
Though last I checked they all live for like 600-800, longer with cybernetic implants, so it's not like he'd need to do anything about that.
Since this thread is still alive I'm storytiming the next issue in wich Brainiac teams up with Clayface.
