Alright, time to continue the Chronological Mignolaverse storytime. Last week we made it from the beginning of the universe, through the Hyperborean age to the exploits of Gall Denar, the marriage of Sarah Hughes to the demon Azazel and the adventures of Sir Edward Grey, Witchfinder.
To day we enter the 1930s and the feats of one known only as The Lobster.

Sorry I was getting it all set up

Thank you for that link, I enjoyed it immensely.

No problem, it's amazing how it's coherent even though I shuffled everything around and even cut up panels in some cases
The Lobster is the best character in the Mignolaverse

He's pretty great but he's no Roger.

Those are funny ways to spell Howards.
>>82525187
Actually I take back my Roger and would like to put forth Enos as the best.
>>82523651
Thanks for the effort man. Would you consider uploading a folder with the comics in their original published order?
>>82525454
I don't have any of the original files anymore. You can find them pretty easily though and then just read them in order.

I'm not sure that bathing suit is time accurate.
>>82525654
No, it is. Even two piece bathing suits were popular in the 30s

Ya, just checked myself. Who'd have thought?
Fiumara bros are wasted on Scott Allie

shhh....do you wanna get bitten?
>>82525785
...This is going to be a recurring theme, isn't it?
>>82525835
Monkeys shooting people?
>>82525835
Monkeys are the greatest evil that can exist, anon. Worse than those crazy old gods that want to crack open reality.
>>82525852
Are there any other examples other than this one and the one with the guy who got transformed into a monkey?
>>82525907
Monkeys are the root of all evil in the mignolaverse.
Theres these little fuckers, then there's the guy you're talking about. There's the gorillas Herman von Klempt made.
This thread reminds me that I haven't read a Hellboy comic in a couple years and have like half a short box of unread books if not more.
Don't forget this monkey.

Monkeys in Midnight Circus, Lobster Johnson fights a kriegaffe in one mini
Remember this statue from before
I wish I could put into words the way I love the breadth and scope of this universe - the closest I've found to describing it is to co-opt a quote from Orson Welles about John Ford:
"With [Mignola] at his best, you get a sense of what the earth is made of"

Another Black Flame? I'll be damned.

You GO girl!
Only time for one thread today, I'll be back tomorrow with more.
>>82526568
Holy fuck everyone has awful aim in this fucking comic.
>>82526603
No, the lobster is just that good.
>>82525214
Gotta love how he remains almost unfazed.
>>82526143
Is this supposed to be the same statue, or is it just one prolific sculptor that ran out of ideas early?
It's a little hard for me to take this lobster bloke seriously when he seems to win by dumb luck 9/10ths of the time.
>>82527157
It is a different statue later in Hellboy and the BPRD 1952 Hellboy comes across one on Bolivia.
>>82527380
Do they have any deeper meaning/relevance to the plot, or is it just a recurring motif throughout the series?
>>82527449
They are probably some carving of one of the Ogdru Jahad or at least one of the Ogdru Hem. They've been shown to cause mutations in animals and stuff like the gases from the Hem. But anything in the Mignolaverse can come back and be super important without a sign beforehand, like the book from Buster Oakley.

1953 implied it will be part of an ongoing arc of Hellboy & the BPRD
