He could just become a cop instead of being retarded manchild and dress in a fucking bat costume. How can ANY criminal take him seriously is beyond me first of all they know he won't kill them so why would they be afraid of him? Also would you take an asshole in a halloween costume seriously? I wouldn't. The fact that Batman is still even alive says more about Gotham gangsters than it says about Batman.
>>82480017
kek
>>82480017
It's almost like Bruce Wayne is not right in the head or something.
>>82480017
Cops have red tape.
Gotham cops are corrupt
Gotham politics are corrupt.
As Batman he can act on his own and does as he will
>he won't kill
Yeah but take a pack of crackers and stomp it a few times. That's what your bones will be like when he's done.
Plus he can prevent crimes no normal police can.
He can also investigate things in ways no normal police can.
He has the resources of a small nation all devoted to himself.
He has skills beyond any cop because he paid for them with money and supreme willpower.
He also does philantropy on the side.
>>82480017
Does /co/ have a hateboner for Batman? I'm indifferent to him, but /co/ always seems to shit on him.
>>82480017
There was a kid I knew in middle school a long time ago that said something eerily similar. Thought it was pretty funny even though I don't agree with it.
>>82480164
So then why doesn't he just a private defective license?
>>82480255
Defective*
>>82480017
>why would they be afraid of him?
BATMAN. FUCKS. YOUR SHIT. UP.
and you never see it coming
the Bat imagery + his ridiculous skills make criminals believe he's not human
>>82480255
It wouldn't really instill much fear. Batman's presence causes some criminals to reconsider pulling certain crimes because they're afraid to cross the bat.
>>82480167
He's popular.
>>82480255
because he'd paint a big target on his back that say, a gigantic mutant crocodile man or a dude with a sniper rifle could follow on.
Batman works in the shadows because it's the only way to fight in a city like Gotham, an hostile enviroment.
ALSO BECAUSE BATS, GADGETS AND ARMORED SUITS BRO
>>82480017
>Also would you take an asshole in a halloween costume seriously? I wouldn't.
Sure.
>>82480255
More than one plot involves Bruce pretending to be an idiot, or socializing with people, as a way to get information.
They wouldn't give him any of that information if they knew that.
Also, villains would know where his base of operations are, and be able to attack him there.
>>82480311
When Croc broke his fucking back it was made pretty clear he is merely human didn't the news spread?
>>82480255

I can literally kick Ben Affleck's ass.
>>82480164
Yeah, if only there weren't those pesky limitations that cops have, a lot more good could be done.
>>82480017
If a cop could fix Gotham, Gordon would have already done it.
The point is that Gotham needs something more.

>>82480358
>Croc
it was Bane
also, Azrael donned the suit so, to criminal's collective knowledge, Batman wasn't taken down. He actually got a whole lot scarier for a while, more violent and ruthless, and he whooped Bane's ass
>>82480017
At the time of my posting your bait has already colleced ten (you)s. Impressive. Have another.
>>82480398
That argument would work if Gotham wasn't basically cursed to have every single thing working against justice being carried out.
>b-but
Batman is right.
That's it, he's not attacking for political motivations, he's literally stopping violent criminals from harming people because the police can't or won't act due to the fucking curse. Curse = writing
Oh and you may not know, but there are places just like fucking Gotham. I remember the time when a guy was arrested and released, meanwhile the woman he had robbed was still stuck in the bureacracy inside the police department. When she left the building, the guy who had been waiting there just killed her and left.
gg wp
>One person with no guns fighting individual crimes across an entire city
He'd accomplish jack shit.
>Gotham is always filthy, corrupt and riddled with crime. To the point where its usually the most criminal city in the world
Batman is fucking useless at his job.
>>82480466
>individuals
General individuals?
No.
Batman? Yes. Is it bullshit? Yes. But it's how he is written.
>>82480600
So is New York and almost half the Marvel heroes live there
>>82480017
You make a good point that I'm sure no one has ever brought before
I bet the adventure of Bruce Wayne police detective would be a lot more entertaining than the story about a billionaire ninja in a Halloween costume with an armory full of James Bond gadgets.
It makes me wonder why they just didn't do that instead, because the police fiction genre is starving for new material.
Actually, that's what Gotham kind of is, now that I think about it. No wonder that show is so amazing.
Waiting for the inevitable
"Why doesn't he donate his money?"
>>82480593

>>82480682
>You don't know what Batman usually does or what resources and training he has right?
He's still one guy beating up criminals one at a time.
>>82480017
No no, you're missing something important.
He was trained to be a ninja. You can't just change vocation from ninja to cop, you have to reroll your character entirely. So of course he dressed up in a suit and ninjas around the city.
>would you take an asshole in a halloween costume seriously?
If he was beating the snot out of me, yeah, I think I'd take him pretty seriously.
>>82480682
>>82480715
One guy with super high tech gear beating up super criminals and stopping organized crime, conspiracies etc.
He doesn't just defend gotham from crime, he strikes where it lives and fights crime the police can't handle.
He also happens to have unbreakable willpower, master detective skills, supreme physical conditioning, traning with weapons, acrobatics, infiltration, martial arts.
He is a genius who has perfect memory, knows biology, physics, mathematics, history, chemistry, you fucking name it.
He has high tactical knowledge and awareness.
He has abilities in tracking, escaping, stalking, chasing, and so fucking on.
Batman's superpower is being basically the apex of a human being with the resources of a small nation.
It is embarrassing how easy it is to get responses to a batman bait thread. And I should know, I used to post them all the time.
>>82480740
Poor Bruce ;_;
>>82480830
>>82480017
Billionaires don't become cops kiddo.
Also it sounds like you never got the shit kicked out of you before. If Batman beat people up all over your town you'd better believe criminals would be afraid.
>>82480017
Being a cop is a poor persons job. If Bruce Wayne wasn't Batman he'd just be a Billionaire CEO like he already is.
>>82480017
you do realise that the scare tactics, the brutal force with which he strikes and crushes your bones, the impossible speed at which he takes your fellow henchmen one by one in the dark and the whole Bat thing makes the average thug think of Batman as something in the line of pic related, right?

>>82481602
>>82481654

I mean in 75 years at least one of these books has done a sequence like that.
>>82481654
I've always fantasized about writing something on the lines of that
either a full noir detective Batman, solving murders (Long Halloween or Hush left me unsatisfied in that regard. I want something more crude, more real. Pretty much a dark detective story with a Batman twist)
that or the really fucking scary Batman you just mentioned

>>82482104
nah. I'd take it seriously, be done with it to take it off my system, and then put it in a drawer never to see the light again
I have no false pretences concerning my writing skills
>>82482032
>>82482145
I would actually read a Bat tactician comic where he just organizes the efforts of the rest from home and has to deal with feeling impotent, etc.
>>82482145
he would still be a asshole because that's hir sole in the family now
>>82482297
>>82480017
I laughed, but to be fair you could say that about 90% of other superheroes. Also Batman doesn't like oversight.
Batman is actually Bruce Wayne's fursona. The criminals realize these when they see him, and rightly react in fear and panic. Being the Batman is more important to Bruce Wayne than stopping crimes so of course he isn't going to use his money to fund a merc force or bribe super-criminals into retiring. He gets off on beating up criminals while rock-hard and dressed in a skintight batsuit.
>>82482333
I feel like it would be nice to see him actually worry about everyone else rather then the Mission though. It could add to his place in the family and change the dynamic of all his relationships.
>>82482355
How he managed to play 1 hour of golf is beyond me

My favorite thing to do in Arkham Knight is dispelling riots by driving through them as fast as possible. Also taking out cars with missiles then ramming the wrecks into a wall until they explode. Then running them over with the tazermobile when they get out of the smoking wreckage and try to escape.

The fact that all of your hapless victims just kind of disappear immediately after they go off screen really makes it all funnier. It's such a dumb mechanic, but god I can only imagine how much worse it would be if they'd put actual civilians in.
>>82483438
The specific reason of them evacuating the city was so you could avoid that while rolling around in the batmobile.
