Given the nature of where we are I wouldn't be surprised if few people remember and fewer care but honestly the greatest thing I've seen /co/ do almost every Christmas is that wishlist thing where anonymous people gift each other shit out of sheer good will.

I know /v/ does sometimes hand out stuff during the rare occasion but again this is something I've seen /co/ do annually. With no reward. And regardless if not despite whatever happened earlier in the year to make them think otherwise.

Are you this new? I'll admit Pan was instrumental in getting the short during the last stages, and his fan base and Twitter hashtag certainly helped, but the finding Rude Removal was a /co/ project for years.
There was a time before Pan even mentioned it, where the episode would sporadically come up in Dexter's threads, lost media threads, or sometimes even on its own. The details of what the episode was sounded so outlandish, and the sources proving its existence were so sketchy, that many anons (myself included) were sure it was fake. Even one of the people involved with the show said it didn't exist. But in 2010 Genndy himself mentioned the episode in an interview, and threads exploded. If it wasn't for anons keeping the now all but proven myth alive over the next couple years, it never would have moved to Reddit, or come up in a Genndy AMA, or have Pan make a video about it and pester Adult Swim. All of Pan's info from his Rude Removal video came from threads here anyway.

No. We were largely responsible.

Back before the bronies spiraled out of control, MLP was just this surprisingly well-done pony cartoon that Lauren Faust put on TV and that /co/ wouldn't shut up about. Every day, there'd be more and more "holy crap, I just checked out MLP and it's actually pretty awesome" threads, and the OP would be politely directed to the general thread that was already in the catalog. Then it got momentum, and the mods banned the word "pony" and pony threads to handle what should have been a few really awful general threads. Then everybody thought it would be absolutely hilarious to just spam the front page with pony threads anyway, either ironically or in retaliation for the mods being fags. Threads with pony images in them, threads trying to evade the wordfilter, a metric fuckton of threads about characters from friendship is magic who aren't technically ponies, all kinds of crap. Shit leaked over into /b/ around that time, too, and we got the containment board shortly after that.

The /mlp/ containment board is basically just a cancerous /co/ general thread expanded in scale and given its own space to mutate within. You can pretend that the fandom had enough inertia to begin with that it would have turned into what it did either way, but /co/ fought and lost some of the first battles against the bronies, gave them a place to incubate, caused their fervor to escalate, and actively participated in its genesis.

We did this.

Keep in mind I wasn't in to Adventure Time threads, and like a lot of things rumors have sprung up, but the fact remains Natasha Allegri used to be in drawthreads about five years back. has it been that long? She's the first person who drew Fionna and Cake as they appear in the show. I mean, lots of other anons also drew r63 Finn and Jake, but I'm not going to complain that she "stole" anything, because they were her own designs. Besides, making an actual episode from them was pretty cool.

This is where the rumors start. That Rebecca Sugar and Pen Ward were also in later drawthreads (although Sugar seems likely because she's admitted to lurking before), and that the reason Natasha stopped visiting was because higher staff told her speaking openly about posting on 4Chan wouldn't hold well for the show. This stuff I take with a grain of salt. If Lauren Faust and Alex Hirsch can talk about all their /co/ escapades, why am I to assume the reason Natasha vanished from threads was because she got a finger waved at her by CN.

Not to derail the thread further, but since other boards have been mentioned, there was that time /v/ sent dozens of dick pics to the Watamote mangaka's address. Then months later, a Q&A portion of the newest chapter revealed she received them. She said she didn't even know what they were at first, because she's never seen a penis before. You're remembering wrong, generals were barely even a concept on 4chan at this point in time, the only general at all on /co/ was HSG, which pretty much invented the damn things out of necessity due to the sporadic nature of updates which would often cause people to make multiple threads at once, so the general was invented.

Bronies had to be forced into generals by the mods because of their rampant bullshit, and of course even after that they couldn't contain their autism and continued to be annoying assholes all over this board and others, so /mlp/ was made.

Also that day the word pony got you banned was hilarious, it was just a rogue mod who ended up getting fired for it. His sacrifice will be remembered.

You are completely wrong. There was a general pony thread long before it became a rule. There was even a site to lead you directly to it. It was organized and concise.

The reason there is an entire board for the show is because it was possible to destroy entire threads on /v/ and the like with a single image of a pony... so that's what people did because it was easy and fun for them.
>>
>>82436298
this reeks badly.
1. no mention of the tons of trolls with no interest in MLP making obvious bait threads that were offtopic.
2. mod abusing his power implied sacrifice.
3. mysterious implications a cartoon caused people to become annoying assholes despite those people watching other cartoons and no other cartoons having near similar levels of strange offtopic spam.

Nintendo have just been dropping the ball all over the place and it's reflected in a lot of people what with the new Zelda being delayed to god knows when next year, a shit Star Fox and no NX in sight. Firing Rapp, though it was the right thing to do, ain't gonna save them

More like hours or minutes, and just about all of them. Best part was that everyone knew about it and were calling each other out with no fucking difference being made.
This is the same group of people that used the PPG character generator fr new AVI's and then took them down immediately after that Unicorn episode, with anyone who didn't being shunned from the 'community'.
>>
>>82437266
Its also even more hilarious because of how much they looked down on people boycotting over the censorship, when they go and boycott over-
let me make this perfectly clear

Rapp never

NEVER

said gamergate got her fired.

she mentioned gamergate, then mentioned being fired. intentionally of course. she knew damn well what she was doing.

everyone fucking bought into it, they were played like a fiddle. rushing to put out article after article about hoe gamergate "got her fired" based on nothing since she NEVER EVEN SAID IT HERSELF.

they jumped the gun with zero evidence and when nintendo came out and gave reasoning, they just decided they were lying, and that theyre completely baseless assumptions were the "real" truth.

im not sure how they reacted once it was revealed 100% she was a legit prostitute.

Faggot, true bronies posted on ponychan and /b/, and on other sites. The 4chan "bronies" you speak of were nothing more than trolls. The ones who liked ponies for anything other than how it could be used as a trolling tool, or because they were fans of the fandom, hated bronies and hated being associated with them.

See, when MLP took off, trolls noticed something. They noticed the butthurt that /co/ exhibited in pony threads. /co/ of all places got their panties in a twist because of a little girl's cartoon, despite the whole board being dedicated to shit that is largely aimed at children, which was hilariously ironic and did not go unnoticed by the rest of 4chan. This made us a laughing stock (yet again), which made our hatred of ponies even worse. Thus the butthurt got worse, so trolls started spamming it everywhere even more than they were. The rest of 4chan's anons also got butthurt, which snowballed out of control for a few months. It had died down a lot by the time /mlp/ was created. /b/ was still irked by /b/rony threads but not as much. /co/ and MLPG had come to some sort of equilibrium and uneasy alliance since both groups fucking despised bronies and any pony posted outside of the MLPG was either by a newfag or a troll so MLPG was usually left alone. Sometimes not, depended on how mods felt at the time. /v/, being the festering shithole it is, had the biggest pony problem out of any board, though it really wasn't as bad as it was in 2010-mid 2011.

Naturally moot made /mlp/ anyway, which reinvigorated the trolls and made the problem serious again, for a few of weeks because MLP was back in the limelight. Moot was a faggot who loved to stoke the cancer fires, so there was a lot of speculation that he made /mlp/ just to create another MOOOOOOOOT moment to add to the annals of his cult of personality.

I only read your first sentence because you sound like a fag, but didn't Lauren browse/post on /co/ generals for the first season or two? I think I've seen pictures of that.

Also I love that image of the mods saying no furry shit aloud and then someone posting a picture of a bunch of vaguely furry threads on /co/ at that time, mostly because I was in a couple of them that night. I specifically remember posting in the Lola rabbit thread and possibly the TMNT one.
>>
>>82438046
me too anon. it was a silly internet group chat meme back then.
got a lot of fond memories of stupid shit with it too.
>>
>>82438028
Sure, there were trolls, but you know why you're full of shit?

Think back to when ponies first hit. Furries were still obnoxious jackasses who shoved their shit into everything and presented their crap as if it was a lifestyle then whined when everyone made fun of them despite their insistence to constantly bring it up. You don't really see that anymore, and I'm pretty sure the reason is that some furries just grew up a bit and realized how dumb they were being, while the rest simply became bronies.
>>
>>82438069
I never said it didn't start on /co/, I said that actual bronies posted elsewhere when the pony spam got out of hand. MLPG started becoming hostile to bronies when they became massive faggots who would talk about each other and not the show. Ponychan became a thing from this hostility, as did /b/rony. Ponychan especially because the sensitive types needed a safe space and 4chan was not that kind of place.

it's called Embric of Wulfhammer's Castle. Some years ago, an adventuring party bought a castle and settled down. You play as 'The Duchess', daughter of the recently deposed tyrant (thanks to the adventuers) who was recently betrothed to Embric, their leader.

Except he's never fucking around so you have free reign to wander around, get kidnapped (repeatedly), lose your clothes (repeatedly), and seduce all the women. Has like eight endings, a shit tonne of easter eggs and secrets,

oh and you can unlock a bunch of different outfits the duchess can wear
