Hey /shelf/, I've got a question: I'm looking at buying the Miracleman/Marvelman books, but I'm not sure whether to buy the Alan Moore or the Neil Gaiman ones. Are the two sets of books complementary, or are they separate iterations of the character? Which writer has the better run, Moore or Gaiman?
My other purchases are going to be Hellboy in Mexico, Providence, and however many Miracleman trades my $50 a month budget allows.

When choosing between books of similar quality, it's best to look at the availability:
- Gotham Central isn't really that well known, so it might be a while before the stores run out (but then again, maybe it didn't get that many copies to begin with). And besides it's brand new, so you should still have a chance to buy it in the future.
- The 60s' Omnis and Claremont X-Men Omni are new printings, so there should still be pretty available. And even if not, you can probably wait another couple of years and they'll reprint it again
- Out of all of them the Avengers are the most likely to run out soon - and because it's not a "classic", there may be no new printing in the foreseeable future.
I'd go with Busiek/Perez.

I grabbed One Piece v78, Rurouni Kenshin VIZbig v2, JJBA: Battle Tendency v3, and My Hero Academia v2-3 during a local shop's manga sale last weekend.
Almost grabbed the new O'Neil Azrael trade collection at my LCS until I saw how bad the print looks on glossy paper. I'd been looking forward to that release for a while too.
I'm really out of the loop on buying trades lately, since I'm trying to streamline my collection a bit and there aren't many places that offer good deals on trades here in Alaska. I've mostly just been snagging manga on the cheap here, so that's what most of my posts seem to consist of anymore.

You're in for a fun ride, anon. In my mind, Phantom Blood is one of the weaker parts of the JoJo series, but it does serve to set up a lot. Part 2, Battle Tendency, is a huge improvement and my favorite to date, so hang in there if it feels a little daunting at times.
