Is what he does right?
>>
No. But that doesn't make him a bad character.
>>
>>82418552

There's no right or wrong.

There's just punishment.
>>
>>82418552

No, and he hasn't regarded it as such in a long, long time.
>>
>>82418605
Bad character as in poorly conceived/written, as in a bad person?
>>
>>82418638
As in poorly written. He's a flawed human bean but a compelling character to follow.
>>
>>82418552
Why does every character have to follow an absolute? For example "never kill" or "always kill". Is there a character who kills just on occasions when an antagonist deserves it?
>>
>>82418911
Plenty. You don't hear about them as much. Terry McGinnis Batman is such a character

>Black Panther
>Captain America
>Most X-Men
>Iron Man
>The Question
>Hawkeye

To name a few.

No, but it's what most of us want deep down when the justice system is inadequate or fails altogether.

HONESTLY ANON I DON'T KNOW WHETHER IT'S RIGHT OR WRONG.
>>
>>82418552
No, but he still accomplishes a lot of good with what he does.
>>
>>82418552

So long as the narrative bends over to ensure he never accidentally targets the wrong person, he never targets anyone that is less than baby-devouring evil, he never accidentally hits a third party with a stray bullet, his actions never have unintended consequences that get innocent people killed, and the rest of the world is always better off with his targets dead, then sure. Since he lives in a universe where all that is true, then yes, what he does is right.

so you've never read the punisher?
>>
>>82422565
Yes.
>>
For a 2 dimensional character, he sure has been getting a lot of threads lately. Why people are so compelled to analyze a glorified action hero is beyond me.
