Man what a shitty ending
Could it have been any worse?
what happened to the other one?

He could have said "Fuck you, the end." Which wasn't far off from the actual ending
Even a "it was all just a game and they were in their rooms the whole time" ending would have been better

That would've been way better than what we got.
My favorite character is andrew hussie, he is cool.

Homestuck really makes me want to make a webcomic, but at the same time Homestuck convinced me that it was nearly impossible to make a consistently good webcomic.
>>82403735
That wasn't a self-insertion. I mean as an actual character into your own story.
>>82403740
hussie's life, hopefully

I'd agree but I found him relating the recaps amusing enough. It was when he became an actual character that interacts with other characters that things started fucking up.

I would read an annotated Homestuck that catalogues everything that doesn't pay off or is completely irrelevant in the end.
>>82404354
I loved Karkat with the understanding that he would eventually grow and we were seeing him develop. The fact that he didn't retroactively makes all of that a waste of time and leaves a bitter aftertaste. It was just words, not a character.

Here's a sketch, let me know if there's anything you want changed or added.
I actually didn't care about Hussie intervening in the story. Did he break his promise. Hell yes he did. But I still enjoyed his appearances because they were always humorous and he never became a protagonist or an antagonist. He was basically just playing the role of a trickster god (no not that kind of trickster). I've seen the author self-insertion done many, many times in other webcomics much more poorly than Hussie did it.
>>82404097
Did he lose to Vriska in the end? I swear I saw a glimpse of her walking away from the huss.

It's so weird how, even though Caliborn was the one who was berated inside the story for how horrible he is and how he'd never change or grow up, that Caliborn really is the only character who actually changed meaningfully and matured properly.
Remember that time Hussie started making fedora jokes?

In the universe where Karkat was working through his insecurities like a character, but doing so in an amusing way. In a universe where the characters have personalities and aren't just vehicles for exposition and saying funny words out loud. So clearly not the universe with our Homestuck.

I'm really curious what people Hussie based Vriska on, real or fictional. Like even the first time you see her speak, you can tell that she's fucked up and crazy. It takes a lot of skill to write a character that is immediately so intense and divisive.
>karkat didn't permadie in collide
this is the worst possible ending
>>82405655
>mental health intervention
KEK lemme guess, you think depression is real too, right?
>>82405622
It is, though? We define normality by what is natural. If someone is born with a tail or a cleft lip, we certainly wouldn't call them normal.
What's wrong with you, though, is that you automatically assume that anything that ISN'T normal must automatically be bad.
>>82405177
there was a lot of buildup in acts 5 and above that's rendered pointless by the ending
trolls and stuff like that is fine though. it sounds like they just wanted hussie to write a completely different comic that panders to their interests

>>82405687
If you read Whistles and then Homestuck you get a feel for some kind of compulsively twisted character morality - that the viewpoint pretends is good - and at some levels is self-aware but at another is totally fucking NOT.
>>82405817
hussie's just a detached sociopath, then?
>>82405672
M8, it really means a lot to me.
I really wish I could have that kind of relationship. I literally am the adming of a Homestuck fanpage partly because of this reason.
Funny thing is I have a gf and am relatively set in life, yet this is what I long for...in a very intense way.
>>82405879
I'd put that out of your head if you don't wanna get chemically castrated.
>>82405874
if you look at his early work, that's not so surprising an outcome
I don't think he's a sociopath though. Maybe he loses touch if he's not in the company of other humans for extended periods.

>>82405907

>>82405941
Yeah, I think sociopath is a stretch, but he does seem like a bit of a narcissist. Not medically or anything, just a sort of general personality thing.
>>82405874
Nah, just hardcore autistic to the point of having difficulty relating to others

>>82405290

>>82406035
that's probably true for a lot of creators, like Hideaki Anno is self-diagnosed autistic
I think something about having the desire to withdraw from society can fuel the creative process. Those first two years of Homestuck, Hussie was so productive that it was difficult to believe that he was participating in society at all. But it's kind of a rare case where a creator is able to dictate his own schedule without having serious concerns about making enough to survive.

Becuase if I am a mentor/parental figure then I can shape them (without imposing anything of course).
Having sex with them is not that relevant as the other things I mentioned.
>>82406144
I am perfectly aware of what I am saying. A single relationship cannot satisfy all my needs (or anyone's for that matter). My current relationship fulfills its role in my life and I do the same in hers. Sadly the way we shape each other is different to what I am talking about here on various levels and do not respond to the aforementioned needs.

female john and dog do nothing for me
>>82406424
He was really an incredible person, worthy of admiration from the masses. But he failed to stick the landing, and allowed his glory to peter out instead of going out with a bang, and it seems like that counts for everything.
>>82406466
really? for me roxy and jade do nothing
but rose and jane make me ROCK HARD
i think its their sexy stares
jade looks like she's staring at fly and roxy looks like she's checking out the producer's huge dick
>>82406466
Finally, someone else with taste.
>>82406355
I wonder what he does now without a life-consuming webcomic to update? Certainly not finishing his game.
>>82406466
>not liking that booty on Jane

You very limited taste then.
>>82406501
>>82406486
it's not that the image is poorly done. It's great in fact.
Jane and Jade are just so repulsive, regardless of their rendering
>>82403476
>>82403533
of the possible ways it could have ended, what we got was probably among the less shitty likely outcomes, and we should probably be grateful the Dark Husstival was too burnt out to really be a cunt
>>82406516
Where do you think you are
>>82406516
>>82406528
You're just digging yourself a deeper hole man.
>>82406551
>>82406538
>>82406466
jade is exactly my type
not the dog shit though, I don't fantasize about her going into heat and birthing seven puppies
>no fatties in Homestuck
>all girls are hot as fuck
That "jane is fat" meme/headcanon was always shit. And even then, a little bit more meat just means more to look at.
>>82406560
Dog girl digs a lot more holes than I do.
>>82406571
>implying the seven kids had anything to do with dog genes
>>82403476
daily reminder that Lord English wins
>>82406494
probably something like what we do, except by himself instead of with 50 other weirdos
>>82406536
>epilogue
He's just drawing out the pain.
>>82406571
Neither do I, but I do fantasize of her liking scratches behind her ears.
>>82406585
There is no evidence that Jade digs holes
>>82406587
it is highly unlikely for a human to birth septuplets
>>82406590
I don't remember him holding Robo Huss's head
>>82406593
>>82406612
It also highly unlikely for a human to have glowing pink eyes or orange eyes.

she's a dog.
>>82406590
daily reminder that Ms. Paint tends to Lord English's huge dick
you know she likes dangerous men and is also unfaithful
>>82406638
She's a dogGIRL
Emphasis on the girl part
>>82406560
thanks for sharing your disgusting taste
>>82406638
I've owned three dogs, and not one of them dug holes ever. I know it's a thing, but it must be a breed-specific trait.
>>82406656
female dogs dig holes
