For me, I like his slow development into a somewhat more affectionate person (seriously, compare Batman and Son Damien to Batman and Robin Damien), and I like a lot of his dynamics with other characters. What makes me appreciate him is that the other characters don't defend him - when he acts like a shit, he generally gets called on it, and it's pretty clear he's being kept around because he's Batman's son and he's better on his side than against him.
