I'm from Poland and I'm scared of trying to read this just because how fucking insane Rosiński has to be, trying to make every single page a fucking masterpiece. This guy does every page on a huge canvas and he's been releasing this comic for what, 20 years now?

Semi modern.
Well first couple of storylines at least, after a while they kinda lost the plot in my opinion.

I like that Spanish parody of Batman, this is goofy as hell! but too spanish for /co/ i guess.

I'm reading La Quête de l'oiseau du temps and it manages to be both a campy fantasy adventure and somewhat depressing. Really dig the setting and the relationship between the two mains, I'm definitely gonna check out some more works from Loisel.

That one French comic about kids waking up in a world where there's no adults. There's some theory that they're dead but I remember the chick with the glasses turning into a bunch of ladybugs.
Also Bandette, I loved it.

Assar is simply too bizarre to be understood outside Sweden.

The main character is a sausage who escapes and travels to the middle of nowhere.
>>
>>82385849
dunno man, I follow dylan dog and since they changed the team behind it stories became a bit diluted...they changed the color behind the title (it's transparent now) and the inner cover... don't like it that much now. Still better than any yankee stuff tho

Here is the common ancestor of all comics characters, Mr Cryptogame! created by Rodolphe Töpffer, the father of the comics.

Perkeros is my best find of the last 2 years.
The story of a swedish indie heavy metal band, that becomes supernatural horror despite the cartoonish looks. Very goods story and art (faces could be a bit more differenciated in some cases, though), with excellent use of the medium.

There is a lot of italian masterpieces, it saddens me that we don't get much exposure to it here, and the frontier is only 150km away.
Still got to read Corto Maltese, so everything isn't lost.

Does anybody knows this one? it's really nice.
It's the story of an explorer who discovered a HUGE temple on top of a mountain build by something 100time bigger than a human.

On his way to get his prize for discovering that temple he is teleported in what it seems to be an other world ruled by demon like creatures.

Why the fuck did they can an official translated release? This series is fucking great
>>

Blake and Mortimer is ridiculously old/oldfashioned. For me, it's just too old. Stiff writing, mostly. Not very exciting. Then again, it might be worth it if you can find it somewhere, give it a go. I have a friend who's very much into it, so it's not without appeal.

Personally, I think the Biggles comics do the same thing, but much better.

Uderzo.jpg

I saw Albert Uderzo at a grocery store in Paris yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.

He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”

I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Galaks in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
