Will Holly be redeemed?
>>82360536
What is there to redeem? She did nothing wrong.
>>82360940
>possessive maniac
only a matter of time before "I" grabs her
>>82360536
of course she will, is there really any other reason for this Flashback?
She will get better and get back to her man.
i would love to see the kirbro's faces when holly gets crowned queen of the wallybowl.
>>82360536
>>82360940
I don't know about redeeming but it's making her more understandable. In one day she has lost beyond everything.
Her breakdown up to this point is probably that she lost the crutches she depended on. Ironically, I think if Wally had lost Holly he would have broken down as well.
Today's Endtown RPG Session was a good one. Everything was like from a buddy cop film mixed with Resident Evil.

>>82361222
There's gotta be a reason we were introduced to the concept of possession so close to this (relatively speaking). If Jim is any indication, "I" can now go after those schisming from their initial instability, possibly contingent on them also being driven mad by loss.
Holly's been a mouse for a long time now, but she's also potentially re-living the very mind-state she was in when she initially mutated while having all her repressed traumas dredged up out of the mud of her soul.
If she schisms now...

People making art of a character doesn't mean is redeemed. I still think this flashback isn't suppose to redeemed her but to show how she was before the war and explain her trauma while at the same time know the world of Neitherlands a little more
>Monday: Cops have argument with proto-Topsiders
>Wednesday: Get told to leave by police chief over radio

I don't know if they'll get her. Remember how Holly used to always say "Nobody has ever caught me." and her being really fast was a main trait?
My guess is she's going to blow out of there and escape by the hair of her whiskers.

Either she'll go willingly with Apex because they claim they can cure her, or she'll hide out in the police car and try to sneak out when they next stop.
Personally I'm banking on her going with Apex and winding up a medical prisoner, as discussed in the last thread. Her having previously been held in confinement and scientifically tortured for information on the virus by the Disease Control guys would explain her whole "kill em all" beef with the Topsiders and why she took the Milk Trial imprisonment far harder than the others.
>>82369013
Al and Gustine would beOrnstein and Smough. Really though I have no idea who they'd be.
>>82369084
Other thing that interests me is Dr. Chase, exactly how he mutated and how he ended with Holly or they could have meet in the Pep stadium
>>82369989
>Apex give up on finding anything out from her and take her barely-alive body to Pep Park because word has come from on high that someone else has found the solution
>Doc Chase is still human but has been shanghai'd onto the medical team at Pep Park, finds Holly and protects her
>Apex begin to wheel out the zero tanks, mutants figure out what's going on
>Walt does his thing...
>Mutants break out and flee in the direction of Endtown at the suggestion of a weirdo in stupid clothes, just before the world goes nuclear
>Doc Chase mutates the first time he sleeps after the breakout

>There's people who really believe that Endtown is not the "Wally and Holly show"
>>82376932
I believe it wasn't originally intended to be and began purely as a mediocre-to-good extension of Aaron's earlier works (Al and Gustine, Sparkplug, etc), but I think that post-Al-and-Gustine it's taken on a life of its own with its own original characters taking focus, all for the better.
I'm actually kind of dreading the move away from Wally and Holly and back to Endtown. I know there's other people who disagree.
I am not a smart man, what the shit happened to Flask?
>>82377665
>Marx sabotaged her gun
>It literally blew her face off and she died
>He met her at the crossroads that souls go through on their way to reincarnation
>He literally kissed her bad side away
>He reincarnated her in the past of an alternate dimension with an alternate version of himself
>>82377924
Why though, it felt so out of place with the story
>>82377968
Marx is a character Aaron's been writing into his various works since he was a child. Aaron has referred to him as his "Tom Bombadil" character. He seems to appeal to Aaron greatly in some fashion, but not necessarily to his readers. It remains to be seen where he takes the character in Endtown's storyline, which is in its own way partially derived from older works of his (which also often contained versions of Marx) but also contains a lot of new stuff.
>>82377968
It's an insufferable quirk the author has, inserting his imaginary friend into his stories to do nutty things.
>>82377924
The one good thing about this sequence is that it did give us a clue as to the nature of the virus: Flask maintained her cat form while going through a bodiless state, and she wasn't infectious in the new universe. So it's a quirk of the soul, not a quirk of genetics, and whatever transmits it to others didn't go through the pillar of souls with her.
I want to remember happier times.

I think it's more likely the DDC was subcontracting Apex for use of equipment and personnel.
Apex might have held enough political sway to get away with their shadier stuff, but they were still just a corporation. They weren't the ones actually running the show.
>>82379006
That's pretty much what I meant: People operating under the auspices of the DDC were largely subcontracted from Apex for the sake of (claimed) know-how and manpower.
>>82379140
>>82379006
Or they're an Apex agency. I asked about plasticized brains and got that response that "Apex use their subsidiaries for that." Given that Topsiders have access to brain-tech maybe DDC is under Apex auspice? The problem with government-Apex relation in Neitherland that it's hard do draw a thick line separating both.
>>82379392
Yup. Apex, Disease Control Division, subcontracted to the DDC - hence the variant logo.

So how bad is this "helium effect"?
Based on how dwarves actually sound, can we assume that Wally can sound like Peter Dinklage or Warwick Davis?
Holly's voice must be really high.

Holly is about 2 feet tall
So is Verne Troyer, and he sounds like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFgji1Umm7A

>>82383246

the helium effect happen to them too?
>>82384256
Probably depends on their mutation
the voice changes in accordance with the length of the vocal cords. Shorter mutants have shorter throats, so they have higher pitched voices.
Mutants with unusual mouths and necks probably have other weird effects added on. Linda supposedly has a slightly "growly" voice now.

>>82384718
>>82384864
If that guard rail is short enough for Linda and Holly to lean on like that, a human-sized person would be more likely to trip over it than anything.
Here's a page I really like, because it shows that there is a certain thought process that goes into what a mutant considers themselves as.
>>82384892
She couldn't take her own advice, could she? It was good advice, and what Linda and Wally needed to hear, but she never really let her old self go, both in terms of what kind of person she was, and in terms of being human (as seen in that page posted in the last thread of her staring at her three-fingered hand).
Those who can, do; those who can't, teach...
>>82384978
Meant this one.
>>82384978
yeah it was really cool before the jackrabbit turned out to be hitler after all being propped up by doctor who because a puddle told him too.
So, do you guys think Holly's condition could be exacerbated byhormonal swings from carrying Wally's child?
>>82385006
>but she never really let her old self go
You don't just walk away from the person you were for most of your life so easily. It is always there. IRL people try to do it too and it doesn't always work out so well.
Holly arguing with Clive shows the two sides of this coin: Clive is OK with being a brain in a truck because he can't remember being anything else, while Holly can remember growing up, getting married and losing it all when she turned into a mouse. There are a lot of emotions at play there.
>>82384936
>>82385006
Like Wally said to Al: most people in Endtown pretent the war did't happen And Holly was one of them she see it like a oportunity to start over, but she did't think that her past could caught her again
>>82385014
Allgood might have had the right idea about humanity, but he was clearly too old fashioned.
>>82385115
It wouldn't be impossible to her have another child?
>>82385014
Endtown's pre-war world was so 50's esq that they wouldn't use human breast milk?
There was a cafe in my city that did exactly that, and it's all consensual. Who gives a shit?
>>82385332
And seems that he never really accept the fact of being a animal, that's why wanted to do a trial
>>82385345
We don't know yet. The possibility that she's barren now due to the miscarriage (and that she knows this, and it's another factor in the amount of psychological weight she puts on having lost her baby) has been raised repeatedly; my guess is that we might find out soon, if she does go with the Disease Control guys and we see them analysing her.
>>82385014
>she's human, but-
sums up mutants in general quite nicely, actually. Allgood is a bigot.
>>82385014
Allgood was such a good character. Aaron really excells at writing compelling villains.
On a related note, I really wonder if these weird discrepencies with nature are by design or not. Real life mice aren't especially into cheese, and cows need to have calves before they produce milk. So is this a sign of the mutation depending, in some way, on unconscious beliefs of the mutated people? I mean, Linda's last name is Kowalsky, of all things.
When Flask's gun exploded, I thought I'd been correct in noticing that she seemed to have screwed up the belt feed. But then he pointed out Aaron Marx tampered with her gun. So now I'm not sure which details to pick up on, and which to ignore.
>>82385377
It's still taboo. Today, a friend of mine brought up that breastmilk apparently makes for really sweet cheese, and quickly added that he wouldn't make/eat it.
>>82385450
If she's really pregnant, that when Jim ask her about... Oh boy this is not to end good
>>82385152
Maybe she's literally got a disassociative, split-personality battle of psyches going in her head. Her mouse self blames her human self for everything that happened to her, while her human self resents her mouse self's finding Wally and is trying to disrupt her life.
>>82385624
Can we really say that Allgood was a villain? He just saw as inmoral using mutant derivated products

That's been mentioned before - there literally seems to be a cartoon element to the mutations. Even without the filter of the comic's art style, apparently Linda perceives her fellow mutants as looking like "Terrytoon Refugees". I believe Aaron even commented somewhere that he's aware that real mice don't much like cheese, but "cartoon mouse girls" do.
My guess is that the mutagen was originally just supposed to create the eatbeasts, but someone struck a deal/altered it/created a parallel mutagen so that there would be a kinder alternative if people were asleep when they mutated. And whoever it was liked cartoons...

>>82393289
Dude still packed the council. Well, he thought he did. The fact that he didn't mean to kill anyone is moot. His actions STILL lead to the deaths of dozens of Endtown citizens. He's a bad guy. Not the worst guy, which makes him compelling as a character, but a bad guy nonetheless. It's easy to feel sorry for him because he adhered to his own moral code (not killing, and not running away), and because he got played, but he was still a bad person.

Like Allgood it was indirectly, but a difference of Holly, Allgood actually planned the trial who later lead to the riots. Also 2 people doesn't mean nothing to the more of twenty that died due to Allgood's plans
What are the odds that Holly won't end up going the Jim route and this is just a way for her to get rid of her baggage and stop being a crazy cunt?
>>82393639
only raging kirbefags are, the rest of the readers are smart enough to understand that holly has no direct responsibility on what happened to Ethel and her husband.
I was grabbing some image fodder from the comic and I was reminded how Holly isn't even near the bottom of the crazy barrel for this comic.
>>82394507
You guys think he is still alive?maybe the dittos help him survive the fall, he could get a happy ending
>>82394507
>Holly isn't even near the bottom of the crazy barrel for this comic.
>Implying holly is crazy
holly's just been through a lot of pain, it's like you haven't paid attention to the current arc.
>>82394696
Somehow I feel his fate was not entirely sealed like Sarah's...
Aaron might make them comeback to haunt us.
>>82394696
Oh, I don't doubt he could come back... but it's not gonna be for a happy ending.
Sparkplug's suffering is not finished.
what is this "i" that everyone keeps talking about? i dont remember anyone in the comic ever talking about it.
>>82395157
"I"is essentially a god-like being that feeds on the suffering of others, his plans are still not clear but apparenly they are related to stealing everyone's soul. He was also the reason why Jim win all that powers back in Unity and he also knows about both Wally and Holly past
>>82379848
Unf. I hope we can get more pinups like this from Aaron soon
>>82395667
Don't worry once the pinup calendar is finished we will have art for months
>>82395737
what a glorious day it will be.

Holly's been slowly going bonkers since the milk trial. The current arc is giving the readers a detailed explanation why and Wally some big clues about what he needs to needs to do.
>>82396058
Oh right I forgot about them, the day he announce a date this threads are going to explote
>>82396110
>and Wally some big clues about what he needs to needs to do.
all he needs to do is haul ass and take kirbee's butt with him...
>>82397166
Why not both?
Reminder that there's an enduring /trash/ thread with some good stuff in it and some open requests here:

I need to draw that Eldritch horror from the RPG session tomorrow. I wish RPGAnon had a shot of it or something I can work off

If this happened, and Wally somehow managed to save her, it's still not smooth sailing. After all that stuff, past and future, I'd expect her to develop some serious issues regarding hergenitals/reproductive systemandever again having sexual relations/children.

When the stars are right
Can someone explain to me whether this is a post-apocalyptic human comic or a furry comic because I can't tell at all based on the thread
>>82385824
Damm you Marx! We know your responsible
>>82399195
the only furry thing about this comic is the anthro characters, is not furry in the sense of fetishy animal porn or whatever furry means nowdays.
>>82399195
Just read the comic is not that hard and is a post- apocalyptic comic about a virus that transforms you into a furrie if you are human. It's very good
>>82399195
Both, I guess??
Really just reading it is the best possible explanation.
>>82399195
Post-apocalyptic comic that just happens to have anthros in it. Some stay human either through luck or airtight suit, majority don't and either turn into a Disney character or the Thing.
Everybody's scared and afraid after WW3, hiding in communities to avoid getting destroyed by hazmat-suited humans who are purging them to clean the Earth of the mutagen. We're in a flashback.

okay
I had kind of expected an answer something along those lines
although "furries come from space as aliens" or "animals become enlightened by radiation" were equally likely in my book
>>82399378
Die most likely, since animals are out of the picture.
>>82399378
Nothing, actually there's no longer animals in the world we still don't know why but it must have a relation with the virus itself
Post-WWIII anthros dealing with inter-dimensional demons...

Can you find a complete version of "Pain and Suffering" from the same movie? I figure that if people are right about what "I" feeds on, it could practically be the entity's theme song.
So what do you guys think of the visual connection between Apex and the Topsiders? Their logo is basically the same, only Apex's in an upward facing triangle and the Topsiders' is downward. I thought there was a connection between the two, and this most recent update seems to confirm it. Apex loyalists/employees probably directly converted into the Topsiders once the dust settled a bit. Also, Topsider technology greatly resembles Apex's, especially the faces on the Mutts/androids in this flashback.
Also do you think the buddibombs had brains or pieces of brain in them to function? Apex definitely had that tech before the fall of civilization.
>>82400704
apex is topsiders
>Also do you think the buddibombs had brains or pieces of brain in them to function?
no, they use computers.
>>82400704
It's pretty obvious that Apex controls everything after the war, well they already do it before but now there's no one to stop them for taking the absolute control
>once the dust settled a bit.
You did that on purpose, doesn't?
>>82399485
>no longer animals in the world
>>82401911
That was a dream
>>82399279
He's just atoning for his part in the creation of Iwhich happened due to his collapsing the entire reality manifold of the Albert universe by recklessly using a derivative of his dimensional tunnelling ability to swiss-cheese that branch of reality for the sake of free energy. The massive influx of maddened dead people to the crossroads caused a hive-minded spiritual congealing of sorrowful and angry souls around Marx's invisible sin-seeking pet eye, Ted, resulting in the demonic entity we know as I.
Unfortunately, he's doing it in his standard sociopathic braindead "break a few eggs while having much lulz" way and should still be shot on sight because everything he's ever done has ruined someone's day somewhere.
>>82402087
It's also somewhat disturbing how there's a bit of of a resemblance between the Albert universe's incarnation of Marx and someone else we've seen, who was until recently a curious avatar for an unknown intelligence...

>Promo art is now putting Wally and Kirbee to the fore
>>82403469
What is this?
Also it's so jarring to see Endtown next to the kind of furry artwork that appeals to the fetish.
>>82403469
>>82403586
Oh God, he's positioning Kirbee and Wally as a pair to promote the comic to new readers. We really are going to see Holly either killed off or taken out of the picture by becoming "I's" avatar soon, aren't we?
>>82403469
WTF? Kirbee is a blonde? I thought she was a redhead?
>>82403821
>>82403821I is altering her appearance to make her appeal more to Wally as it tries to drive a wedge between him and Holly. Kirbee isn't even aware of it.
>>82403821
She scalped Holly and is wearing her hair as a wig.
>>82403980
>>82404333
Kirbee's hair *has* changed a lot over time to look more like Holly's (>>82375840).
All this theorizing about Kirbee being a literal devilish temptation is feeling disturbingly solid.
