It's because sometimes the warnings can come in various ways. You rarely know exactly what is attacking you, usually it's just a sense of threat moments before it happens.
Ezra seems pretty good at sensing that "something is coming" but so far hasn't been able to really warn people in time to avoid said danger. He's admittedly quite young about it, though.
I'd argue mostly you sense things about to happen or things in the vicinity that happened. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, for instance, reacted to the deaths of their Republic pilots rather than sensed it ahead of time. Obi-Wan mentions sensing something sinister about and Qui-Gon warned him against such things since they can distract you.
Basically in-universe they're a total crapshoot. In reality it allows the writers to pull plot hijinks out of their asses.

Nobody knows. There may be a few techniques that are unique to him and which he taught to the Knights of Ren. Force Paralysis (including of blaster bolts) is a maybe. Kylo Ren seems to have an inordinately strong ability to peer into people's minds which so far we've not witnessed.
Both are, however, largely variations of existing abilities. Freezing bolts hasn't been done, but since they have swords for deflecting shots I don't think they'd bother if they could. Paralyzing people seems frightening but it's actually less intimidating than Force Lift which often includes choking. Pulling secrets out of people's heads, well, that depends. Most Jedi can just Mind Trick you into telling your secrets, Sith have a Domination technique like one Sidious used on a twi'lek girl in LotS. The Jedi have trouble against the strong willed, and so did Ventress when she tried it on Rex, but no clue about the Sith version which seems to care less about the intrusiveness and abuse of another person's psyche.
In early versions of the script he called out to Rey with the Force wanting her to kill Kylo Ren and join him but that was obviously removed. If it's still something he can do that's a pretty high level technique. Remote communication would have really helped the Jedi in the war, and Yoda's ability to appear to people seems to be both new and likely conditional to areas strong in the Force like the Lothal Temple.

Personally, I think he doesn't have any. His appearing as a giant projection really gives me an evil Wizard of Oz vibe. He's long lived, probably not human, but has seen shit to know things about the force to an extent that he can teach people about it, but can't use it himself. I think they are trying to make the force more versatile which I really like because we have always seen the same old abilities over and over again. Kylo's mind reading isn't really new but the way he used it was very unique. He uses it to torture and break his prisoners which makes me wonder if Vader ever tried this when he interrogated Leia.

Might be worth checking out what they did in the novelization of ANH. As it is I've read several versions of events where the ball droid was just used to administer drugs rather than perform the actual torture. She was supposed to be rendered weak to Vader's Force probing, but even then she resisted. For what it's worth the Visual Dictionary for TFA states Luke feels the Force manifests in Leia through her strong will.

Because they had a rotating capital planet. The first capital of the New Republic was Chandrila, Mon Mothma's homeworld.
Presumably this was to avoid power becoming focused on any one part of the galaxy and instead spread it around to other places than the core, also to avoid local corruption establishing itself in the Senate like in the old Republic. There is no doubt still plenty of corruption but now they can't just sit around on Coruscant getting fat and lazy, they have to run to keep up with wherever the Senate is moved.

The new Star Wars comic wasn't bad. I'm not a huge fan of this arc, and it seems almost TOO obvious that the secret badguy is actually that dude from the Annual. The arc is an interesting premise, a secret prison in a location even the Empire would be too afraid to look even if they considered it, but the execution, so to speak, has been a bit weak. There just really isn't enough development of what the place is about, just that it has big bad Imperial assholes. We find a guy who supposedly murdered three Jedi but no real context. I assume he was probably executing them in prison or some shit because that guy didn't seem anti-Jedi material (though I suppose he'd been rotting in prison for some time).
I'm okay with Sana's continued presence. I never felt the animosity some people displayed over, "HAN SOLO HAD A SECRET BLACK WIFE!!!!" which was...just super to sit through thread after thread. I don't mind her appearing, but at the same time she's not really growing on me as a character. Her characterization is still a bit too sparse and it's like they don't really know what to do with her.
Aphra. Why the hell Leia didn't shoot that IG-RM droid in the head after it saved the day I do not know. Leaving a battle droid that was rewired by Aphra under her control seems like the most likely way the good Doctor will end up escaping.
I don't really seem to be saying anything positive about a comic I said I liked. Mostly I enjoyed Luke and Han bonding over being total dumbasses. It's stupid and lighthearted but an obvious way they develop from their often abrasive relationship in ANH to Han being willing to ride out into almost certain death to save his friend. Sure he came back to save Luke against Vader and the were happy enough at the end ANH but still it's nice to see some actual development. Luke finally getting to fly the Falcon for the first time was nice. It was all stupid but nice in it's own way.
