Did Zootopia make Song of the South twice as racist?
>>82249067
Wouldn't the proper term be speciesist?
>>82249067
They should just retrofit Splash Mt. to be Zootopia themed like they did with the Haunted Mansion. Call it Mr. Nick Wild's Ride

Song of the South isn't really all that racist, at least not racist enough to warrant a ban in America
>>82249636
They acquired Lucas Film, why not go full Curse of Monkey Island? What's worse, being turned into a damned Ghost Pirate by plunging into boiling lava or becoming a gay fox?
>>82249642
It's not so much "racist" as it is reeeeallly out of touch. Disney really wants to forget they made a kid's movie set during Reconstruction.
>>82249642
For it's time it was pretty damn progressive.

How do you double racism? It either is or it isn't.
>>82251911
There are levels of racism, between crossing the street when a Black Person comes your way to lynching them on a burning cross.
>>82251911
Something could be twice as racist in intensity. Like I would say lynching a nigger is double the racist than hanging a no colored sign.

1. Comparison to Cintiq
Literally cannibalized sales. Why buy a monitor when you can get a WHOLE computer for less and get the same results? That's the reason the 3rd edition switched to N-Trig.
2. Comparison to Laptop
It's a great buy, fampire. Microsoft puts a lot of money into their baby. The 1 and 2 are only 10 inches, but you can get them for $200-$300 bucks. Great laptops if you are on a budget and they won't have any issues with any drawing programs.
No 3d games though, but that's a separate thing.
>Yiynova
My main complaint was the thick pen. It got annoying at times, in comparison to the 'natural' Wacom. But you'll get used to it, just takes some practice, like with anything else.
I'm separating this from the above because I have seen some complaints about color coming from professionals. HOWEVER, if you're asking here on /co/ so you can make fanart of a buuny cop, you won't really care about this. It works fine.

It was very relevant at the time though
I mean, the reconstuction period in the south was basically the grandparents generation. Kids of the 40s (these would have been pre-baby boomers) would have had parents who grew up at the turn of the century, who in turn had parents from the tail end of reconstruction.
It's basically no different than today's kids (post-millenials) having stories that take place in the 50s and 60s.

There are no dogs in Zootopia, they fall under human domesticated breeds, though oddly enough they're still technically under the Canis genus as with wolves, apparently dogs and wolves can breed with fertile offspring, though I think it's not wise as they tend to still act fairly wild.

Dogs and Wolves are, from the technical point of view (that is, the definition of a species is 'a group of animals that can produce viable offspring with each other') the same species. We just call the domesticated ones 'dogs'

They would just be considered extra aggressive wolves or something.
If you've heard of the experiment in Russia with foxes, they bred their behavior in both directions to confirm how humans domesticated wolves into dogs. They made calm friendly foxes that they've started to sell as pets I think, and they made ultra aggressive foxes that go fucking nuts when people get near them. Their explanation I think was differences in adrenaline production or some such, they also coincidentally found that droopy ears and curly tails sometimes happened to appear in the gentler foxes as an unexpected breeding affect or some such.
>>82254909

Without domestication, and thus without mass breeding and raising of animals to provide meat, milk, wool, labor, could mammalian society really expand so large?
>>82255184
It would if their civilization was founded on the back of highly advanced technology given to them by a previous dominant species...
>>82255160
Deadpool digital release was yesterday, blu ray very soon to come I expect.
>>82255184
I assume both prey and predator have a mutual symbiosis. Prey gave the wool, milk and labour in exchange for protection and a place to live. Kinda like how ancient medieval time with kings and peasants. At least that how i believe how they live together initially.
>>82255184
It's hard to say. Civilization as we know it did rely on animals heavily for food production and labor, and areas without domesticable animals had a much harder time growing to various technological milestones -- or never did at all. But I wonder how much of that could have been counteracted if humans had the strength of those draft animals, themselves.
>>82255184
Different kind of domestication I guess, technically they would have basically domesticated themselves into producing less adrenaline and shit, that's what the Russian fox experiment found.
The explanation for predators food is fish and insects apparently. Dunno that they need milk or wool in particular, humans don't quite digest milk properly, lactose intolerance, can just use cotton instead of wool I imagine, labor would be more efficient because they can actually give detailed instructions to animals that are strong enough to do it rather than having to direct them forcefully or some shit. Picture being able to tell a pet dog to properly guard your house or some shit rather than just hoping they do, they have freaking elephants and shit to do extreme heavy lifting, and mice to do tiny detailed work, if anything their society would be even more advanced than ours.
>>82255293
Well, I guess the real world isn't quite so kind as to have dogs protect your family all the time

Get a cintiq companion if you want a cintiq level experience. The surface pro 3 and 4 use n-trig technology which isn't up to wacom's digitizer tech. You can draw on a surface of you wish, I just feel that it is usually the lazy recommendation.
>>82252602
A cintiq companion is a whole computer. Microsoft switched to N-trig with the surface pro 3 because they wanted their own budget digitizer technology. Before then they were licensing Wacom digitizers.
Also consider that a cintiq companion is ergonomically designed for artists while a surface is not. However, you can probably get an older surface really cheap and even a new one can be bought on a fire sale because Microsoft had been undercutting themselves to make unit sales while Wacom won't compromise themselves like that.

Meanwhile, with a surface pro, you can get up to like $600 off on a trade-in or one of the many sales that Microsoft has for the thing. But if you think I'm being a fanboy, then by all means, look up a comparitive review that compares a surface pro to a cintiq companion.

That idea should be burried with these E.T. Atari game cartridges, what were they thinking when animating that suffering polar bear cub?
Nick will be protagonist of Zootopia 2, he's fan favorite now.

They were thinking that they were making a poignant scene that outlines the struggles of a parent; you want to guarantee your child's happiness but there's no way to do that. With all of your love, you create something that suffers. You can't protect them from the world, but you should do what you can to make sure it's at least a little better for them.
But yeah, it made for a worse movie.

Not only that, but seeing that scene, all of the prey animals are now pure evil in the eyes of the viewer. The movie wouldn't work because the viewer would rather see Zootopia get nuked than somehow redeemed.

If only Google Translate could translate images.
Or accurately translating it into coherent sentences for a start.

Who exactly is Desmond? Just a fanmade character or what?
When are we going to get more art of this guy?
Or at least some webms.

Isn't he the sound kid in the play at the beginning of the film?
>>82256915
Nah, music cat looks like he's a cougar >>82256909
>>82256909
his name is Bobby Catmull.
>>82256953
He's a Bobcat

So I thought a bit about the anti-fox items in this movie, specifically the fox repellent.
The fox taser is pretty self explanatory, but the fox repellent seems like something particularly cruel; most likely it's just a little can of really nasty smell with some peppery elements or something in it but for a fox it probably smells like inhaling fire owing to their incredibly sharp sense of smell.
not sure why it hit me as particularly weird or nasty, but it just got under my skin a bit.

>Bobcat
>>82257006
>Cougar
>>82256976
Foxes deserve it.
>>82256976
You think the fox repellent is particularly dehumanizing (for a lack of a better term), or is it just the sensory attack?
>>82249436
I bet you think that Guardians of the Galaxy replacing the Twilight Zone stuff in the Tower of Terror rumor is a legitimately wonderful idea
There's a place for Zootopia and it's called Animal Kingdom

Byron vs Rich: Civil War
>>82257087
Well he looks more like a cougar anyway
>>82257114
Rich was probably mistaken because his name was BOBby CATmull
>>82257067
it's the targeted sensory attack element more than anything. It's not like pepper spray or something that just universally sucks no matter what you are - it's specifically designed to be a smell so strong foxes react to it like it might as well be mace. Though the fact that there's very specific deterrents for foxes is some proto-zootopia stuff.

I had the exact same thought.

First off, don't give us any ideas.
Second, what the hell are you talking about with the Haunted Mansion? Keep in mind I work there when you answer.
>>82253242
I think he actually built a fuck huge wall before one of his kids fucked up and he ended up dying.
>>82257276
Probably talking about Haunted Mansion Holiday

I gopt a pretty big Nick tsum the other day and I only noticed that it's got an eyebrow raised the other day.
yes. even the tsums are smug.
So what does Finnick do nowadays, since Nick is a cop? I don't think he can pull off the con by himself.
>>82254886
hearty chuckle/10
Also, does anybody have the full list of zootopia band names from the threads? I'd like to suggest
>Dean Marten
>Stoat Roses (alternately; Stoat Sour, Stoat Temple Pilots)

Im sure Nick wasnt his only buddy. He's probably still doin some other scams with other folks. He might also be irritated with the fact Nick is a cop.
