I'm gonna go full autist for a moment here but bear with me. For those who don't know, the thing I've circled here is a tender. It holds coal and water, pretty necessary for a steam locomotive to work. For some reason almost every cartoon that includes a steam locomotive omits this specific part of the train and it bothers me literally every time. I'm pretty sure most cartoons don't really care about getting really niche things like this right when most of the audience won't care or notice but I find it hard to let go.
Irrational animation triggers thread, I guess?
Fuck off Thomas tard

...I don't know shit about trains, what IS a tank engine compared to regular trains?
>>82069114
A tank engine has all the stuff it needs in its main engine compartment. Less powerful but no need for a seperate tender carriage.
>>82069098
I know what OP is bitching about and most engines in cartoons are drawn as tender engines.. but without a tender.
>>82069114
Tank engines keep their coal and water supply on top of the locomotive itself, rather than stored in a separate tender.

>most engines in cartoons are drawn as tender engines.. but without a tender.
Well in that case that does sound (and probably looks) retarded. Any example pics?

I gotchu. I made the thread as I was watching Bob's Burgers which did it, but I mostly remember Adventure Time doing it. They actually got it right in the title card but not in the episode itself, so it's just an outright inconsistency. But that season was pfffbbtt anyway.
Also didn't want to get caught up on trains, was hoping for more examples like >>82069036
