It feels farfetched that at the end of Game Over she immediately went with the retcon thinking "1F ONLY VR1SKA H4D B33N TH3R3" . Because at that point, she didn't know yet how that would impact anything outside of the binary choice she originally had.
She saw/heard Karkat dying because of her, and then the scene with her an John has John conveniently bring up his death, with her reaction telling to "not say it like that", making it sound like it was written to imply it is a partial motivation. Which fits in with Hussies beating around the bush way of not committing to most things: It's vague enough to say that Karkat's death is a major motivation, but also that he in this case just reminds her of all her dead friends.
It felt more like Vriska living being a good thing was because she discerned it via her powers. Not because she decided it would have been a good idea from the beginning. And she only used her power after telling John to "F1X 1T".

I imagine that was the primary reasoning behind her instructions to John as a whole, she was pretty fucking useless before Game Over happened and after the fighting was over she likely realised that and wished she'd done more. Then John pops up with his retcon powers and she has her chance. It's one of the more interesting concepts explored in Homestuck, would you go back and fix your past mistakes if it meant you will no longer exist?
Given she cared for Karkat a lot, I imagine his well being likely played into her decision making on instructing John's actions in the past. It would have been nice too have seen that explicitly shown, but most of her intent was likely focused on herself not ending up as melancholic and useless as before. I mean, that was the weird part about Terezi as a character. Perhaps the issue is just in how it was presented, in Vriskagram we just see a lot of scenes focused on her influence on things. I can understand why, she wasn't there the first time around so let's show how things change with her on board. However, it shows Vriska in all these situations as being the element of change, even with things like Rose drinking, which did get sorted out eventually on its own, did we really need to see Vriska being the one to confront Rose on it?
Better year, given Terezi was the one dictating the retcon in an attempt to make things right both with the session and herself, perhaps she should have been shown actually guiding things? She is a Seer so it stands to reason her changes should have made her more capable in leading her group as she isn't bogged down in relationship troubles.
As for thecombat plan, whilst I do agree she should have been the lead contributor, she isfrom what I recallthe only contributor. Having a plan of action dictated like that with no one offering any input is just so dry, doubly so when it all just comes true. Why not have her and Terezi working on it together? Vriska offering the more aggressive options and Terezi tempering it so it doesn't go over the top, that be fitting of their renewed Scourge Sister thing.

I still think that was mostly one sided on Terezi's part, and that Vriska does not really "get" relationships. Or rather, she knows the signs and requirements of one, but not how to live them properly so that both parties are happy. He seemed a bit reigned in, at least in the presence of Dave. His overreaction to trivial things was one of his biggsest issues, so that's something positive with his post-retcon self. However, he did regress in that he seemed much less capable, he gave up on leadership and just seemed to accept he was worthless and wanted to have some influence on events happening, hence his contentment to be on the front line.

I think if there's one character Vriska does care for, it's Terezi. However, as you said Vriska just doesn't seem to understand what a relationship should be like, that it's a two way thing. It makes sense she has a fucked understanding of interpersonal relations given most of her life was dictated by murdering people to feed what should be her parenting figure. What's odd is Terezi going along with it, again she's supposed to be smart, surely she'd recognise how bad Vriska is for her on that level and try to seek deeper companionship from elsewhere.
Problem is, everyone on the meteor is pretty terrible company, they all have issues with genuine emotions with Terezi arguably being the worst of the lot.

as i think about the ending and how it ties into homestuck as a whole, and match it with the themes and ideals of homestuck, it feels better
