They decided to make every episode based off fan mail they got back in the early 90s or ideas from back then that got rejected, not understanding that the former ideas were from kids that didn't know what they were talking about and the latter ideas were rejected for a reason. Stimpy's Pregnant was something they pitched during the first season that Nick rejected. I am not fucking kidding.
Also, it didn't have any of the zany episodes like Space Madness or Untamed World.
Also, every episode dragged on for way too long.
Also, Altruists was actually an okay episode if you can get past the duck sex and log sex scenes.

It was unadulterated John K. He had nobody holding him back in the past. He had no peers at Spumco. Spike TV gave him a lot of free reign. With all that, he went nuts, providing three barely airable episodes and three unairable episodes over a year late. Those three final episodes would make no sense edited for television and when they were completed Spike TVs animated block was long dead. As much as we bitch about how animation is run nowadays some of it is the fault of the animators because without a leash many will blow through the budget, miss deadlines and go a bit crazy.

there is something that have always bugged me about John K, every time he does things on his own and fucks up is not because he goes deranged or something, is because his stuff is not particularly entertaining, the adult cartoon thing he did wasn't good in terms of adult entertainment, it was just shocking visuals but overall the plot for most of these cartoons is basic, unfocused and at some point goes nowhere, i can see the man is mostly visual but he really needs someone who can tell him where to go in terms of plot and storytelling

I loved this show. The only episode that was as bad as people told me was Altruists, and that's because it went on for too long. Stimpy's Pregnant and Ren Seeks Help were masterpieces. Everything else was typical gagfest stuff, the kind of stuff we sat through in the original series to get to the really good stuff.

What happened to the animation? Supposedly it was done by the same studio that animated some of the best original series episodes like Sven Hoek and Stimpy's Invention, but a lot of the time it's very awkward and jerky in APC, and the mouth movements barely match up with the voices.
