OP of an audio thread here. You are the worst judge of your own voice, and that goes for everybody. Once you get past that and get practice in, and you can use your voice like a pro, you will be a little better, but at the start, you have no idea what you really sound like to others.

Although not perfect, because it reverberates inside of you and that can cause differences between you and others, this can help give a start of an idea.

Obviously, recording and playback gives you what you want.

>you're fucking dead kids

I’m thrilled you all could make it tonight, gentlemen. I know I ask a
lot of you, but I hope you all realize, I notice everything. Every tiny smile, every
command obeyed, every sacrifice given. You’re my men, aren’t you? And tonight,
you’re going to prove it.
Now, I want you all to pick up your instruments and line up in—You! Stand up
straight, please. I said, stand up! Would you like the whole town to see you in a
wrinkled band uniform? Don’t answer, just listen. (pause) Now, form that single line
and reflect on your assignment tonight. Remember, you’re more than simply clarinet
players or baton twirlers. You have a mission, a purpose—and while you may not be
here to witness the difference you make, know that I will. And that’s really what
matters most, now isn’t it?
So all those people who said I didn’t have a voice, who said no one would ever listen
to me—those awful people, with their awful taunts in my head—“She called ‘fire’ and
no one heard her!” “Have you noticed how the waiter never stops at her table?” “She
can’t even get a dog to lick her hand!”
Well, Awful People’s Taunts! Look at me now. Listen to me now! I have all these
gentlemen right here. Haven’t I, gentlemen? Don’t answer, just think! You’re all
prepared to march out that window, march out with flutes and heads held high, and
fall to your fated death…all for me. All for me.

Way back when, some anon said these threads were a terrible idea, that teaching anons to record VO was like teaching dogs to use axes.

Which led to one anon recording a series of journals on "Operation Dog-Axe," chronicling his attempts to teach dogs to use axes for mysterious ends.

Which culminated in this.

No the real problem is that there either isnt enough people suggesting or not enough people voicing things, though its usually the former.
>>
>>82008812
But there's a whole bunch of suggestions here >>81984360
>>
Some Batman villain suggestions:

RA'S: Detective, as you know, I am cursed with a love for emptiness...desolation. It is a beauty to which my soul responds...as pure, as untainted as the deserts of my birth. I deem it my mission to purify this planet, to restore it to its former beauty...a mission I will brook no interference in.

RIDDLER: You don't understand...I really didn't want to leave you any clues. I really planned never to go back to Arkham Asylum. But I left you a clue anyway. So I...I have to go back there. Because I might need help. I...I might actually be crazy.

SCARECROW: I know an old woman who lived in a shoe. She had so many children, she didn't know what to do. She gave them some broth but gave them no bread. And she beat them and whipped them and put them to bed.

TWO-FACE: You see, Harvey Dent was one of the good guys. Being good in this town means you need guts. You gotta' be tough. You gotta' do things that aren't in the lawbooks. The bat didn't have the stomach for it. He punked out on Harvey. The great outlaw protector of Gotham hid behind Lady Justice's skirts. But she's blind for a reason, kid. 'Cause she doesn't see what needs to be done in her name. I wanted you to understand that. Before it's all over, I wanted you to know. It wasn't me that killed you. It was the bat.

And a creepy post from an old, OLD vo thread:

People of earth, ladies and gentlemen of the United Solar Colonies, and to all you crazy folks hiding out there on the moon, it's just about time! Ten seconds--give or take a few for broadcast delay--TEN SECONDS until the greatest event of a thousand years: THE YEAR 3000! All around the worlds, count with me: ten! Nine! Eight! Seeeeeeeven! Six! Five! Four! (increasingly unsettling, jagged tone) Almost there. ThreeAlmost. TWO!almost...one ladies and gentlemen, and it is a new day.

...there are so many of you now. And you have spread...far. How impressive. How wonderful. This plane will marvel at the echoes of your screams.

The thing is, you could really do some "deleted scenes" audio. Could really fuck with some people.

Like, find someone who can do good storyboard visuals, make up something, keep it in character and people would think it's legit.

Have you ever tried doing something with that voice? Like helping people in fanimations or what-not? Not sure anyone out there really does that anymore, but it beats all those shitty annoying kids trying to make their voice sound like him and failing completely
>>

>Like helping people in fanimations or what-not?
Not my Rocko voice specifically, but I've done fandubs of things (mostly not anime, so calm down) for a good 2+ years

>annoying kids trying to make their voice sound like him
What kids?
If I knew a kid who knew what Rocko was, I would shake their father's hands.
>>
I wonder if Rocko would ever have sex with Mrs Bighead

thanks alot anon hearing the word "fucking" in Rocko's voice makes me think a lot of things
>>
>>82017645
>mostly not anime, so calm down
No judging here.

I don't care about anime users on /co/ so long as they don't take everything off-board/topic

Kids as in generic kids dubbing, not just Rocko. Not sure i've seen any kids who talk about Rocko or anything before 2006. unless it's some bullshit like Shrek.

Kids hardly do dubs right when they try to be funny, it's worse when they put it with animation that they tried hard on but it looks like shit.

Start by just learning how to act. Far more important than the ability to do voices is the ability to be convincing. Go do a play. Do some online amateur radio. Anything, really, you just need practice and critique. I went to school for theatre, and far better than any of the classes I took was the practical experience I got from constantly being in front of people.
