What makes you unreasonably angry when discussing comics, /co/?

For me, it's when retards ceaselessly spout "edgy" as a buzzword when the slightest inspection of the materiel shows that it's not. It's a lazy buzzword that smothers any kind of actual thinking about context or intent.

>What makes you unreasonably angry when discussing comics, /co/?

That people get unreasonably angry about discussing comics.
>>
>>81977647
Women discussing comics

People spreading misinformation about something via word of mouth, whether it's about creators or the story. Though it's more like it bothers me more than it should. There are better things to actually be angry about.

Nothing, OP. I'm neurotypical.

How is that even a problem on/co/?
>>
A screencap of one SJW tweet that will be read by 6 people gets a thread with 300+ responses while any thread discussing comics disappears in minutes.

When someone loves a mary-sue character but doesn't understand what a mary-sue is and why it's bad. And it's impossible to explain to them why you don't like the character because everything you can list as a negative comes off as a positive to them since everything wrong with the character is exactly what fools them into thinking they're a good character.

Both extremes of the "not muh" spectrum
Like when someone hates a well-written character only because it's different than other iterations. But on the flip-side it's just as annoying when there's a character who's so different from their usual depictions that they may as well be a different character altogether and people just say "You can't be mad, it's just a different version!"

It's because of the /tv/ invasion. /tv/ has always been a containment board for some of the worst shitposters and insane company-loyal autists. Since the Marvel movies hit big they've been flooding over here and engaging in their usually faggotry.

When a topic threatens to overrun multiple boards, the most effective solution to date has been a new board to let it burn itself out. Worked for 2hu, pokeymans, horse fuckers. It's not like we don't have boards for all kinds of ridiculous stuff these days anyway.

When someone who has never read comics before because it is beneath them, tries to tell me why my taste is wrong, because they saw ant-man last month.
I am all for everyone enjoying the movies, but anyone coming to the table to have a fun discussion on comics had better have at least noticed the lack of wife beating in Ant-man.

Additionally, when someone insults muh Aquaman. I personally appreciate him as a character and have especially rather enjoyed all of the recent run.
>>
>>81982876
It's not like he beat his wife all the time. There were a couple incidents, when he was all hepped up on science, or she was.

But you can't tell me that a little part of you was wondering how or if they were going to incorporate it in anyway.
They even worked in a way to make Ant-man and Yellow jacket both be part of Hank Pym. If anything, it was a discussion point for comic fans.

>What makes you unreasonably angry when discussing comics, /co/?

Not having read the comics is one thing I can excuse, not everyone enjoys the medium and doesn't want to spend the time to gradually work their way into extensive superhero settings.

But people who then turn right around and IGNORE or DISMISS points from the comics and treat the movies as invariably the "true" interpretation and disregard every other contradicting point are fucking infuriating.

When I look at a conversation where one person is technically correct, but they talk like an asshole and drive the other person away.

Like, some chick says, "Wonder Woman's the first female superhero!", you COULD try to engage her interest and guide her to something older she might enjoy. But instead more often than not I see people going, "ACTUALLY YOU'RE WRONG LOOK AT ALL MY SOURCES SO YOU KNOW YOU'RE WRONG AND I'M RIGHT."

It just. You lose your message in your presentation, and you don't even realize it.
