Whats your favorite couch gag?
>>81960890
The one where the couch keeps moving back forever
Laughed my ass off the first time I saw it
Not sure that it's my favourite, but I do like this one.
This one was fucking weird.
Episode S01E07
the one where they get a guest animator and it drags on way longer than it should
This one.

Seriously, the couch gags are better then the actual show by this point, it's sad.

I usually hate this pretentious fucker but this intro was funny.

>john K.'s couch gag
>>81961431
Why did I google for that?
>>81960890
the one with the circus acts and the dancing that they used all the time when they want to run the clock on animation time
>>81961127
Was gonna post that lol

>>81961127
I just absolutely cracked up to that.
>>81960890
The one with the empty couch that cuts to the family being locked out and Homer banging on the door.
>>81961045
Oh, but they get remind people the rightful place of The Simpsons at the head of the indie/experimental animation movement *and* write a couple less pages of actual script. Also, the alternative is pic related, so everybody wins
>>81960970
You probably already know this but that was the first episode actually made, but then the episode was held back until later in the season. All the other episodes are supposed to be variations of that first one.
>>81961127
I'm guessing the DVD commentary track for that is going to be just a couple of minutes of the producers yelling IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT 80S REFERENCES AMIRITE IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT YOU FUCKING ANIMALS
>>81963852
they do the couch gags based on how long the episode they wrote is. If the final product ends up a couple minutes short we get a stupid long couch gag.
>>81960890
I like the evolution one the best
>>81961371
Surely an aggressively mainstream tv show that's been three decades on the air and sold out in each and every possible fashion is a valid platform for independent, revolutionary thought
>>81963902
But the show now is about 4 minutes shorter than it used to be, due to commercials. In earlier episodes they always had to cut a lot, now they can barely make up a shorter run time.
>>81961431
I want to think he was parodying his own style to mock the notion of being approached at all, but it's unlikely he didn't cash the check
>>81964055
This is why there's now those shitty shots where it will do shit like linger on Bart's prank in silence for 5 seconds accompanied only with a stock Bart chuckle.
When I was a kid the treehouse of horror ones scared the shit out of me
After I saw pic related I didn't sleep for 2 days
>>81960970 >>81963857
The first episode I ever saw was by sheer coincidence 7G01, which I thought for a while was the very first one because it was so fucking weird and different. When the books and whatnot started to pop up I learned it WAS the first to be produced, but it had to be reworked because it originally looked even worse, and it's officially listed as the season finale
>>81960943
all that fucking effort
Is there an up to date video of all of them?
the one where the camera rises up above through the top of the house keeps rising over america as a whole and away from the world showing kodos and kang by a broken down spaceship away from the galaxy and universe and it kind of goes into cells that split and then goes back away from homers head and he's there sat with the other simpsons and he just goes "woooooow!"
could not find on pootube so described it
I'm gonna get a lot of hate for saying this, but the Rick and Morty one gets me every time.

I'll always love the one where they get crushed by the Monty Python foot.

I'm a sucker for eternities being represented by a few minutes.
>>81960890
>that souless robotic animation
Damn you Fox

>No couch gag by a japanese animator EEEEEEEEEVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER
the one by Sylvain Chomet
>>81969340
Besides Miyazaki and Satoshi Kon, are there any prolific or well known Japanese animators?
Most people just refer to the studios, rather than the animators themselves
>>81960890
The one where they have the opposite heads in order of size (Maggie has Homer's head and vice versa). They all pop their heads off and hand them to their respective owners, except Bart, who, being in the center, had his own head and proceeds to look around a little distressed at what he witnessed.
I love body horror.

>>81969859
I get the reasoning behind making it and the way you're supposed to feel watching it, but fuck that guy for taking the time to frame by frame make those models. It's just fucking weird.
>>81969859
>That endingShouldn't have made me laugh as much as it did.
The way he delivers the line "Oh doctor I'm crazy!" gets me everytime

>>81969099
More like damn you Groening for wanting stiff animation in the first place.
>>81969859
That guy is incredible. He even got into a movie.
>>81961127
awesome.
i wonder what would be a good couch gag for the final episode of the simpsons
>>81973807The final episode IS the couch gag
>>81961127
This and the Rick and Morty one are my favorite. Funnier than the actual show at this point.
>>81973807
A montage set to the latest hit pop song, obviously
>>81973878
I wouldn't mind this being an episode idea. It'd be interesting. Not very exciting but a nice experimental idea nonetheless.

>Lee Hardcastle
The guy that did that fanmade sequel to Chainsaw Maid?
