God that shit is so cringe. Douchechills to the max, literally like a grandpa or something trying to portray subcultures and slang

I've never read much Batman, but was that actually in the comic?
>>
Why did Batman refer to criminal murderers as his children?
>>
>>81883080
It was worse in the comics.
>>
>>81883080
I always forgave it because it takes place in the future, and so I was like "well, people might talk like that in the future."

If it were meant to be a reflection of contemporary youth slang, then it would fail and be cheesy. But this is more like Miller making up a vernacular.

Yeah, I never thought that made sense, Batman just selecting gangsters to be his army, even if they were working on the "good" side now.

Gosh darn those misguided yutes
>>

I think it hit the nail on the head about all slang sounding bizarre and retarded outside of the generation that uses it.
>>
>>81883080
If it wasn't in the comic people would have definitely complained I'm sure. I don't remember how bad it got at points since I haven't watched the movies in years and even longer since I opened my copy of the book up.

Because they were, even if he liked it or not, the future of Gotham. They were just impressionable kids without proper supervision.

There's noting wrong with making up new fashions and slang for how gang members in the future might look In fact I like it quite a lot, it gives the writers a lot more creative freedom without having to make them as true to life as real gangbangers, as well as an excuse to write stuff that seems a little silly but cool.

Also has anyone read A clockwork orange? Basically an entire book written in a made up slang spoken by teenage gang members in some hypothetical future, its awesome.

Now pic related, that was dumb.

>“[The Occupy movement] is a completely justified howl of moral outrage and it seems to be handled in a very intelligent, non-violent way, which is probably another reason why Frank Miller would be less than pleased with it. I’m sure if it had been a bunch of young, sociopathic vigilantes with Batman make-up on their faces, he’d be more in favour of it.”

well, this quote is painfully outdated

It was outdated when Moore said it, even - the kooks had taken hold of the media coverage by December, around the same time that he had that interview.
Granted, he could be talking about the sane people who tried to distance themselves from the other groups, but that distinction had fallen apart by then,
