Would the West have done it better?
>>81865879
yes
>>81865879
storytime when?
Yeah how was it? I never got around to reading it
Well... Diesel only got one issue, so clearly not.Did Liquidmark ever finish that picture he was doing of Dio fucking the black girl?
>>81868634
just one issue?
why?
I mean, what's the story behind the character and all
>>81865879
Fuck no.
Diesel had no tension or hook. It just ejaculated Stands all over the place. Say what you will about Stardust Crusaders, but there was a build up to seeing a Stand and a throwdown between two of them being modern magic.
Maybe it could have been done better, but Diesel wasn't going to be the one to do it.
>>81868992
It's JoJo. Literally it was just a guy stealing parts of JoJo and hoping the west wouldn't notice.
>>81865879
I really hope the gents in /co/co/'s make these fucking characters appear at some point.

>you will never see american Jotaro beat american DIO
>>81868634
I didn't finish it, but I've been back in the saddle concerning my drawing. If you keep the tread around, I'll make some stuff.

>Antarctic Press strikes again with yet another anime–type, creator–owned title. Written, illustrated, and colored by Joe Weltjens, Diesel follows the imprint’s manga style, high–flying, no–holds barred action—an attitude that over the years has generated quite the loyal following.
>Reminiscent of the Highlander films and television series, Diesel follows[...]

This shit is great
Also
>creator–owned title
Is this the final proof that "creator-owned" focused publishers are garbage and encourage the worst of the worst. Remember how Image ended up?
>>81865879
>>81869438
Heavy metal is creator-owned so is dark horse, iirc.
>>81870547
My point stands then.
Noble ambitions that just end up in lengthy court battles and allow for any schmuck to call himself a published "artist"
Not saying there isn't anything wrong with the more professional scene, but the creator-owned movement has added nothing besides a general lack of quality control and a huge increase in dumb lawsuits.
>>81869438
Image is doing pretty good right now?
>>81869172
It was the 90's, we probably wouldn't.
>>81871208
After they cracked down on their own creator-owned philosophy in the late 2000s.
Their contracts are only slightly less iron-clad than Marvel or DC's, and while they still have a healthy amount of ancillary new blood, it's only because their core franchises are locked down tight.
That whole Medieval Spawn drama really changed how shit ran there.
>>81871245
The vast majority, no. And I expect most people who read Diesel DIDN'T catch that it was a straight rip-off.

>Start with Star Platinum
>Take away anything remotely interesting or unique about his design
>Replace it with Hulk

>Another
What was the other comic?
>>81873497
Antarctic press was known for publishing "Anime-inspired" stuff in the nineties, during the anime boom.
I'm pretty sure this isn't the only thing they've published that's plagerized.
>>81869728
who were the other stands?
>>81874912
N'Doul
>>81874999
who were the ''crusaders''?
>>81875264
Bunch of generic white people and one token black chick.

Thanks
>>81875422
Nice job finishing that up man.
>>81875422
Nice job, dude. But why is it low res, and why is the girl's stand not fucked too?
>>81869352
Aww, but the reactions to the insanity are the best part of Diesel threads.
>>81877705I've been trying to get the image sizes right for a while now. The native resolution is a bit much to upload to an image board and look giant on my tablet screen, so I reduce the image size by 75%. If you want the hires, just grab it from my Dropbox. Here's a link to the full res version

The stand isn't being fucked because she originally wasn't in the plan for the image and I didn't put her in until I was almost done. I might do another one. It's sort of too bad that diesel doesn't have more to work with...
