How does Superman fly faster?
>>
Alfred fills the Batmobile's tires
>>
I don't understand this question. The same way you run faster. Flight is a partially psychic mechanism so he just pours more effort/energy into it.
>>
>>81836430
Where is this "effort/energy" coming from?
>>
>>81836554
His cells, which are constantly absorbing solar power.
>>
>>81836153

He farts.

Remember super breath. Yeah, Imagine that coming out behind him.
>>
>>81836618
>>81836618
If he spent too long out of the sunlight, would he regress and lose flight, but retain super jumping?
>>
>>81836618
Yes he flies from the produce energy, but when has it ever been implied he can manipulate his solar power to increase the speed of his flight?
>>
>>81837107
>but when has it ever been implied he can manipulate his solar power to increase the speed of his flight?

He doesn't manipulate his solar power, he just manipulates his flight power. Sort of how you don't manipulate your calorie power, you just manipulate your running power.

Magic.

Okay so Superman's primary superpower is actually something called "Tactile Telekinesis" which gives him telekinetic control over things that he touches.

Think of a Kryptonian as a giant psychic brain that just happens to be humanoid in shape instead of vaguely spherical. This brain absorbs light through a form of photosynthesis, and channels it out again in the form of telekinetic force. This tactile telekinesis first manifests as super-strength and super-durability, which in turn allow for super-breath and super-speed. Once the solar brain has instinctively protected itself, it moves on to further instinctive protection in the form of heat and x-ray vision, and locomotion in the form of flight. To fly faster, the solar brain exerts more solar energy, and its reserves are drained more quickly.

Tactile Telekinesis is also the reason why Superman can shield people with his cape, and why he can usually manipulate large objects safely as if he were the fulcrum, because he transfers his super-durability to what he touches.
>>
>>81836618
Irrelevant. The sun doesn't output enough energy to maintain the physical feats Superman is routinely observed to perform.

>>81837493
Canonically, no. He's weak to magic.

>>81836153
How does he fly at all? He generates meaningless amounts of lift even if we generously assume he's capable of projecting some kind of force by means unknown. He has no wings or canards, let alone flaps, ailerons or air brakes.

>>81836289
With horse cum that he licks out of Jim Gordon's ass.
>>
>>81836664
That's what happened to Supergirl in JLU, but it depends on how the writers think their powers work at the time.

Then why can he still act as an invulnerable object when he's unconscious?
>>
>>81837819
I prefer the Donner explanation that he's got a "super dense molecular structure" because he's from eight galaxies away. It's still retarded but you can at least argue that he's got a lot of spare mass to burn off as energy to supplement the relatively small amount it's possible for an object his size to absorb from external sources.
>>
>>81837819
>>
>>81838097
That's instinctive. These are abilities that evolved in a spacefaring race. Kryptonians are, technically, just normal mortal animals in the DC universe. They function according to comic science and comic biology.

As an aside, it would also be more appropriate to say that Superman is "mortal" to magic, rather than weak. Superman is affected by magic exactly the same as the rest of us, which makes it a great way to attack him, but it's only a 'weakness' relative to his perceived invulnerability in other areas. Superman is affected by magic like a mortal because he is one.

Why is super farting out of the question?
>>
by farting
>>
>>81836652
Opening the penultimate can of worms here. What if superman had explosive diarrhea. Would he destroy his bathroom and every floor below his apartment with the force of his defecation.
>>
>>81837861
He's not weak to magic, just vulnerable.
>>
>>81839104
He is alien.

He probably got one of those high tech anal like the horse.
>>
>>81836652
>this is the only logical explanation
>>
He puts both arms out in front.
>>
>>81839104
There is no evidence to suggest that Superman has a butthole.
>>
>>81836153
The question is how does he fly at all.
Unlike energy projecting heroes he has little of an excuse here, even though those, too are usually kinda "just flying".
This is really a symptom of comic writers and artists treating flight as a power and not the outcome of applying another power. Often it is not flying by doing xuan, but just flying because they can do that.
Even if the character nominally is doing xuan in order to fly.

This is bullshit. The cape is still as invulnerable as Supes is no matter how far away he is from it.

Know how the Lorax flies by lifting his own ass up in the air? Superman does that, but with his own outfit. When he lifts up his arms in his flying pose, he's actually pulling his outfit so tight that the force of that super-wedgie raises him into the air. The reason he has the cape is so nearby planes don't crash from getting distracted by the fabric on his super-ass being pulled tight. To fly faster, he just clenches his butthole with super strength at a super fast rate. The resulting air displacement propels him forward at impossible speeds.
>>
>>81836153
Force of will.
Like how you can make yourself pee faster.
>>
>>81839104
No. The force of a fart is determined by the volume of gases compressed within the lower digestive tract, colon and rectum. As these are gases rather than solids, unlike a shit that would undoubtedly blast through the porcelain and take out half the neighborhood, superfarts are no more powerful than yours or mine.

Unless he's been deliberately sucking in gases and swallowing them. This is a thing that horses do, and it eventually kills them.
>>
>>81840227
That's flexing a muscle, not willpower.
You can't get a cramp from willpower.

>Ernest D. Vincent

Ernest Vincent still lives in Cambridge, MA and may have a lot of court records there. I can't really be bothered to check. As of July 1996, he had taught at MIT's Lowell Institute School for 22 years and was the most senior instructor. He is probably retired today, aged 68.

>Robert P. Lidral

After graduation, Mr. Lidral became a high school teacher in Urbana, IL. He then spent three years developing software for the US Army, possibly on a pre-reform MOS (Military Occupation Specialty, if he were an enlisted man rather than a civilian contractor - his term was too short to indicate an officer), and had a strong career as a programmer from 1978 to 2001. He possesses knowledge of a number of obsolescent languages and systems and is probably an expensive hire, if he's still working.

>Michael H. Fleisher

In 2012, Mr Fleisher and his wife donated $2,500 or more to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. As with Mr. Chasin, there's very little good data on what he's been doing all these years. He is not the Michael Fleisher who once worked in comics (who has since become an anthropologist), nor is he the businessman who worked for Warner Music Group at one time. The Fleishers may be retired.

>Jeffrey M. Chasin

Mr. Chasin is probably an educator in the Roslindale, MA area today, unless he is retired.

>Lance Antrim

After graduating a military school and MIT, Lance (son of Admiral Richard Nott Antrim) had a successful career as an analyst and diplomat in the Reagan administration with a background in materials science, and has run a major wine and cheese tasting group for more than twenty years at the present time in addition to duties as an expert in the law of the sea (as established under national and international legal frameworks and agreements) for multiple respected bodies, with a focus on the Arctic. Lance is now known as Caitlyn Antrim following gender reassignment surgery.

Ms. Antrim is apparently still working.

Why do you keep breathing while unconscious?
Why does your heart keep beating?

Fucking dumbass
>>

I saw one anon theorize that it was due to the electromagnetic field, which is why Superman in the Timmiverse had to use a jetpack in space

Not canon at all, but a sound theory

And its comics. It contradicts shit all the time, so you have to go by the broader explanations instead of a writer wanking or jobbing a certain character

His durability is an involuntary response much like your sweating or heart beating, you fucking dumbass.
Nothing about tactile telekinesis implies t's necessarily conscious, holy shit how are you this fucking autistic?
