I only eat American
Nobody likes Captain America they only like Chris Evans
>>81820797
But Iron Man is the beating heart of the MCU.
;_; it's poetry. He honestly needed a movie before Spidey cause I always seen him as Marvel's poster boy, but Spidey became it. Still, i'm loving the attention to detail they're giving both him and Spidey. Marvel has been on a winning streak with these movies, at this point it's part of every child in America's child hood. They'll talk about these shits when they grow up. Feels good. Feels fucking amazing.
>>81822171
Chris was, in all honesty, the perfect man to portray Cap. He's plays him like an average joe who just wanted to do the right thing and fight Nazis and got turned into a superhuman as a resultTruth be told, I actually like John Walker (U.S.Agent/Super Patriot) more than Cap and I'm really hoping that he appears in the MCU soon
>>81820797

>>81821487
Captain America is Muslim though...
>>81820891
Never heard of pringles being called crisps, just chips.
Cap is slowly become THE super hero.
The figure people think of when they hear the term "Super hero".
He's the goody two shoes, mom, baseball and apple pie boy scout done right and he's dethroning superman as the quintessential cape.
Are in an amazing age, boys. Enjoy it.
>>81820797
MCU Cap is basically mini-superman. And it's all the more stark because the actual Superman movies are fucking terrible, so Cap shines even more as a humble, goodhearted dude with powers that is just trying to do the right thing.
>>81822545
We was a joke throughout the ninties, and into the early aughts.
It really wasn't until Ultimates I think that people started to care again, and New Avengers for the main universe (maybe Disassembled, its debateable).
>>81822408
How else would he play him? That's what Captain America has always been...
>>81822619
What a time to be alive.
>>81822674
And even then, it was largely just us comic nerds. The broader public didn't really start noticing the character before the movies came out.
>>81822302
He used to be, I think AoU started to turn it around. I am certain that Civil war will.
>>81820797
>>may have the single strongest superhero film trilogy of all time.
Two most recent movies are strongest in the MCU in my opinion, but First Avenger is easily the worst. It felt standard until the ending, which felt just plain fucking stupid.
Red Skull, who was played excellently, was just fucking killed because he got the thing he wanted. Like an Indiana Jones movie, but without Cap like, solving the puzzle or whatever to not die himself, it just sort of happens. Then cap fucking crashes the plane into the ice because "THERES NO TIME" even though if I remember correctly the bombs weren't actually set to go off? And even if they were, they fucking DIDN'T go off after he crashed, so what the fuck?
If someone gives me some reasonable explanations to these problems, I'd probably go back and give it another try, but right now I just look back on it and feel it was shitty writing.
>>81820797
I remember years ago having to defend Captain America from people who think he is dumb and how they should change him for the marvel movies because his character of representing freedom and justice and now everyone loves him.
If only they can do the same to Superman, anyone who says an optimistic hero cannot work today hasn't seen captain america.

I mean, stupid shit's great, I love a good mindless movie, but you can't just arbitrarily say shit like "There's no time" and heroically sacrifice yourself with no actual threat. They could have even just thrown in some nonsensical line about "Oh the ice water defused the nukes." which would be stupid, but at least you don't make Captain America look like a suicidal retard.
>>81822912
Be in denial all you want, Capfag. But Robot Man with lasers and missiles is far more appealing to children than Shield Throwing Man.
>>81822925
Because America is a superpower
>>81820797
Cap's biggest problem has always been that people took one look at him and made judgment calls about who he was as a character that he was never really about. Like some other guy said in this thread, people who actually read comics like Cap. Now that the films are somewhat mainstream it seems like even normies do too, which is great IMO.though, and I hate to say this about the great Joe Simon, it makes me wonder if he's a great design if people generally take one look at him and constantly get the wrong impression about him
>>81822855
That's just the thing, though. Supes and Cap are extremely similar characters, basically no personality and no goals past "Justice".
Marvel takes that and puts Cap in morally gray areas, where what's "right" is hard to define.
Meanwhile DC just changes Supes and expects the audience to be interested in the same shit he's been doing for 75 years but this time with a shitty attitude.
DC and WB are depriving kids of a decent superman and Cap is taking his place as the quintessential hero.

>>81822865

>>81823106
Iron Man is being portrayed as the ethically compelled "greater good" figure, while Cap is the morally compelled "what is right" figure. It is movie about the oldest question of what is good. Both characters can be the "good guy", and can be "right" without compromising either.
However, my experience suggests to me that people prefer a personal moral code over the collective good, so Cap will likely be seen as the one with the higher moral ground.
That is speculative of course.
>>81821487
Yeah right. No amount of power can block the bullet "Israel"
>>81823008
It was a different time. Joe Simon put out a cover with a man in the American flag punching Hitler in the face, and it was a time when pro fascist and anti-Semetic thetoric was not uncommon ins the US. He was making a very clear point. Namely, "Fuck this shit, it's un-American."
>>81822976
>not wanting the Christifour
>>81822856
This is why First Avenger is my favourite MCU movie.
They could have gone with basically a 300-ish movie, show all Americans are so cool and stupid Nazis, but they tried to make him a more main stream hero, spiced with a little humor at the expense on the own country, how the way he was in the comic basically stayed IN the comics of the own universe.
>>81823120
So nothing will change.
>>81822861
Oh yeah!
Doubt they were going to use him again though
>>81820797
Why do people keep linking the shitty Henry Jackman/Zimmer Clone #14 score?
>>81822711
Even if it's being portrayed that way, Iron Man/Robert Downey Jr. seems to be the most popular of the group. As well as the one with the highest rated origin film. I still think it's RDJ being the glue for the franchise being this much of a booming success. Without him, they would still be popular, sure, but like, Ant-Man levels of popular rather than "billion dollars in a weekend" popular.

>ten years ago Captain America was a virgin
>now he still is
Relatable, /co/?
>>81833589
Yep, that retard Gru.
>>81830706
Me.
I mean, it's damn odd, you'd think that people would always try to be all #TeamIronManlet, but we have seen in all the movies of Cap a more relatable character, someone who actually cares about his friends (whether they're new or old) and his country, and at the same time actually has seen how easily corruptible can the government be, but he still ends up standing for what is truly right.
Now, this is the first time I'm truly afraid that they end upkilling himin Civil War to "be more like the comics" and not resolve his story with Bucky and now with Tony, although if he comes back in Infinity War and they end up concluding in a great way those plots, I'll be the happiest man alive. (probably)

I will argue day and night against someone who thinks Hulk ever killing anyone while not damaged or controlled is bullshit is in fact wrong, but this retcon in Cap, it is utter nonsense. Considering Gru was a heavy continuity guy, Cap never killing is dumb when prior he was in the big one and acted as a special strike agent for SHIELD basically
>>81833774
>Cap never killing is dumb when prior he was in the big one and acted as a special strike agent for SHIELD basically
That's why Gru was entertaining but stupid.
>>81833653
Even if they do kill him in CW there's no way he won't be back for Infinity War.
>>81833862
>entertaining
Not the word I would use for his Cap when it's largely a snoozefest with only snippets of quality like that page with Magneto and Skully and snake ronald reagan
>>81832975
Because the basics are still done right. At the end of the day regardless of whatever minor or major changes they make MCU Cap is a hero that anyone can stand by. Meanwhile BvS feels like they decided to do an a cinematic universe based on "What if the Justice League was like the Ultimates?" The MCU would be nowhere near as loved as it is if everyone was in full Ultimate universe asshole mode.
