Like, I hate Slott and think he's been sitting on Spider-Man way too long, but even I'm not going to imply he retroactively wrote ASM 700 as a joke about killing a kid with leukemia. Not in a public forum with my name attached to it on a website that is my livelyhood.
That being said, Marvel takes leaks seriously. I write for a well respected but small comic website who has scored tons of extensive (1 hr+) interviews with people at Marvel ranging from former EiCs, artists, people involved with the cartoons, and writers current & past and Marvel won't give us shit. And I don't mean free review comics or anything, I mean they won't give SHIT. No news, no announcements, no cancellations, nothing. And that's not with just us, their PR feed is pretty much what you see on the front page of their website. They are THAT paranoid about leaks and controlling information. So I can see why Johnston would be tempted to come here since occasionally we do have insiders leak things.
But Jesus Christ man, Marvel isn't going to give you asspats and let you into the fold for this.
