Is this worth reading? I like the premise but I've heard it's some edgy shit.
It's the movie but darker and with a main character that you are legitimately just supposed to hate
The first volume is decent. Millar's extreme brand of edge seems to fit very well with JRJR's lumpy dumpy poor-man's-Miller style.
It is a comic written like the man fucking hates comics. The book is so edgy and unpleasant it is near unreadable.

Depends your perspective really. If you're cynical about capes, there's no reason you shouldn't like it, but I don't think it's a bad comic even if you come from the opposite angle (except if you're one of those people who think that a comic that sends a message they don't agree with is bad).

It's vigilante exploitation about burgeoning sociopaths that constantly fail at being superheroes...who then along the way grow into better people.
It's pretty fun when you just take it at the insane nature of it all.
Except KA2, which is just pure shit because Ennis tries too hard at making it his "Empire Strikes Back" and fucking fails.
It's a comic for which the movie adaptation managed to be better than the source.
