Back in the day? No. It was an action cartoon that happened to have little girls as the protagonists. The stories were more reminiscent of 80s comic books, or scooby doo than my little ponies or barbie. Even when they did stories with a moral or lesson, it was often tongue in cheek, or at least light hearted.
The new one? I dunno. Didn't bother watching it since none of the original people who made the first one awesome is not even attached to it.

I watched the show for the action and slapstick comedy.
The design however is pretty cutesy but watching bad guys teeth flying and nose bleeding is kind of fun.

Reminds me of when I was a little kid and I went to a weird disco Halloween party dressed up as Bubbles, and this girl I hated thought it would be good idea to go as Buttercup.
