Adam West Batman never expected you to take any of its ridiculous horse-shit seriously, but there's multiple parts in B&R where it suddenly wants to become a real movie with emotional stakes you're supposed to care about.
And it's just overstuffed. Batgirl had no reason to be in the movie, you could cut her out entirely and not much would change. Bane has no purpose other then being a big guy for you that Robin can fight.

I think its depressing that back when this was made, Bruce can make a little quip about Superman and people find it funny, but if it happened today 30 cork boards of string and DC comics would be strung up to explain how the Joel Shuemaker-verse is set up.
