I liked it back when it was a videogame comic about a fake videogame with lots of videogame references. Then the troll stuff happened, and it started being an interpersonal relationships comic about interpersonal relationships and occasionally some plot.
But that's just me. Everyone seems to like different parts of Homestuck.
I think the MAXIMUM possible disappointment I could get out of an ending is some kind of choose-your-own-canon-end thing as a pussy way of trying to give everyone what they want.

Act 5 had some pacing issues, but it also had a lot of the best moments in Homestuck. Act 6 was pretty much an unmitigated disaster from the word "go".
