Actually we do. West Africa. Just Black Americans don't like being from West Africa. They'd rather be East African or North African, especially North African because that's where Egypt is. Yet at the same time they romanticize a bland pseudo "Africa" that resembles a stereotypical West Africa that ignores the prevalence of Westernization, Islamism, and Christianity that pervails most of Africa today, all while expressing desire to return to the "motherland" (but not really).
I'm Black American myself, so I can say this. The culture here surrounding the ideal of the Afrocentric Utopia are largely based on misconceptions and ignorance. To be fair though this is how natural born Americans tend to be at large when talking about the outside world (for example White supremacists who speak of Europe like it's a fantasy land of peace and harmony and never interacted with brown cultures in history). We live in a bubble, and many of us tend to envy other countries because to us they seem to actually have a culture, and in America must of us are cut off from the cultures of other ancestors beyond basic knowledge.
All this said, I'd watch this movie.

It could have easily been The Frog Prince. The original fairytale was about a spoiled princess who had to learn how to feel compassion for a talking frog. It's like Beauty and the Best in reverse almost.
But Disney were too spineless to stick more closely to the original and decided to set it in the U.S. South during the 1920s and turn the heroine into a frog and expected people to just accept that.
