How are you enjoying Disney Animations Neo-Renaissance?
>>
Very much so.
>>
It's nice.

But if they do another "Nice character is actually a villain" twist that would be one too many.
>>
>>81588648
Well, they've only done it twice so far.
>>
>>81588648
>Big Hero 6
>Frozen
>Zootopia

Holy shit, you're right. To be fair o Zootopia, it is a mystery, so that kind of thing is to be expected.
>>
>>81588475

>Neo-Renaissance

Kek. At least it's above the Dark Ages, though no way in hell does it compare to the 90s renaissance.
>>
I wish the stories were tighter.
I feel like we hear that every movie is scrapped 3 times, and they throw the final version together a month before the opening.
I was surprised to see so many bad assets on Frozen, considering how long they worked on it. Even if they don't use the script, you'd think the models would be on point.
>>
>>81588682
3 times. And it doesn't help that Pixar has done it like twice that much.
>>
With the exception of Frozen, they've been good to fantastic.
>>
>>81588724
Zootopia and Big Hero 6 felt extremely tight. The latter was very much on the safe and unoriginal side, but it was very well-constructed.
>>
>>81588684
Wreck-It Ralph, too.
>>
>>81588724
If anything I think it shows ingenuity and clutch under pressure.
>>
>>81588771
Eh, I can't agree with that one. King Candy was the antagonist from the moment he first meets Ralph. Him also being Turbo is just a neat reveal and not so much a good guy being revealed as the villain,
>>
And it's about to get bigger.
>>
>>81588475
Out of the ones I've seen, WiR was great, but I didn't care for Frozen and BH6
>>
>>81588475
All that photoshop looks terrible.
>>
>>81588822
Yeah, this. King Candy was the problem from the start, but why he's the problem is the big reveal.
>>
Is there any clear, identifiable reason for Disney Animation's quality upswing and Pixar's downswing?
>>
>>81589061
Lassetter for both.
>>
>>81588475
I've not enjoyed any of the princess movies (Tangled, Frozen, Frog [would've improved with Menken I think]), but the rest were good. Especially WIR
>>
>>81588910

>Hasbro still making Disney toys.

So when is Disney gonna buy the company? I want to see Disney Transformers and maybe some worlds based on their IPs in Kingdom Hearts 3, especially one based on you-know-what.
>>
>>81588475
>Paperman
I really, really want to see more of this. If we can't get traditional 2D drawn films then I want them to at least run with this technology and give us more than just 3D all the time.

Don't get me wrong; I like 3D films. But I desperately want 2D to live again.
>>
Wreck-it-Ralph is the only one I really care for.

Zootopia did everything right. The only downside is that the bar has been placed so high, Moana might be shit by comparison. It was already an uphill battle for the minority princess if PatF was any indication of what's to come. Of course sales don't effect quality.
>>
>>81588475
only two of the movies in OP were 7/10 for me, and none of them higher than that. Not what I'd call a renaissance.
>>
>>81588475
What the hell is Winnie the Pooh doing on there. Disney acts like that movie doesn't exist most of the time.
>>
>>81589385

I love how that show turned to be the 4chan's Voldemort.

Fit in the bizarre lore of the site.

>We get to see the Avengers in our life time
>Series of amazing animated movies
>My favorite cartoon show in years, WOY

Disney may be a border-line monopoly, but everything they touch tuns to fucking gold, so I don't mind

They've industrialized fun. It's great.
>>
>>81588648
Agree with you there.

>>81588771
Wreck-It Ralph is the only one that actually got it right due to being threatening and having some great lines alongside a pretty clever twist. But the others couldn't quite capture the same thing that King Candy/Turbo had.
>>
>>81589799
I really hope Moana can stand on its own and not become the Good Dinosaur to Zootopia's Inside Out.
>>
>>81591892
not sure how you think your first two points are good but oh well

It is a pretty neat cover.

BH6 was far from tight. That was a mess of a movie
>>
>>81591639
Didn't even notice

>Disney owns Dungeons & Dragons now
If they'd give us a show, I would be into that.
