This is what pisses me off the most. The "standard" lessons are ten times more important than petty, specific shit like this. So not only are you not keeping it simple for kids to watch, you're turning off adults as well.

Did anyone already post that article clipping of them talking about how bland the other show was and how they gave it more "depth" here? This is Tumblr 101 speak, and I know it's just a site, but holy fuck is it a majority rule there that shit needs more depth half the time and their so pretentious that they think it's their idea anyway.
This show is destined to live 2 seasons minimum because of how bad it is, this levels of bad will always do well with kids especially with an iconic design (that they fucked up) that has been around for a decade or so, and you still see balloons of them or coloring books around from the old series.
I just don't get why they chose the VAs in such a disconnected way, they don't sound the same, they have the same dynamic of "high pitched happy" and "normal whatever" and "somewhat deeper than the rest" but that's it, the voices are still vastly different.

I do like the show, it's got a very "children's book at the doctor's office" vibe, that's truly what it is, a comfy show. Sometimes it does have a story of something you think might happen bad, like when Grizz was stuck in a tree and that thing was attacking him, and it can be sad as in the same episode where he was a cub stuck in a tree, it varies but overall it doesn't want to be more than a cartoon you can relax to. Even said it has good jokes like you said, plus some other neat aspects. Plus Brad Breeck has never let me down before in the BM department.

That's very typical. I've been noticing this, that when this very narrow clique of people, whether they work in Animation or Videogames, get involved in creation they have a very confusing and odd sense of humor/entertainment. They get too stuck on images of Cat Micros and Television GIF captions or really vapid thinks and their sensibilities get really, odd.
For instance, creating a videogame where you're just so incredibly depressed, or that one where you're just a pseudo-lesbian in an uppity prep school, I mean not the premises but the aesthetics of the show are very warped.
