Who do you care more about, Ahsoka or Rey? Why?

You have to pick one. I just rewatched some of the old films and there are a lot more reasons to care about Luke and the others from the original trilogy--Rey powers up really fast (goes from fighting of claim jumpers with a stick to defeating a Skywalker with Jedi and darkside training) and doesn't seem to have to take any major personal/emotional risks--the character is just sort of flat, I guess.
Even with the cringy writing and dialogue, I felt like original trilogy was still better in terms of basic structure--there is better character interaction, more at stake for the characters, and the trials and challenges seem more meaningful.
So that brings us to the last female character that annoyed everyone when she came out. I'm sure most of the people watching the new movie don't know who Ahsoka is (or Mara Jade, or anyone outside the first trilogy), but for the fans who will be around for a while, what do you think?

It bugged me that she just 'knew' how to influence the stormtrooper to let her escape her cell. There are enough instances where Jedi have failed at mind control that we can surmise it's not a basic, level 0 skill.
Also how does the force help beat Kylo with a lightsaber? You have to have practical skills in sword fighting first, that's why there are so many form variations. The force just helps you concentrate and plan ahead, not download whole fighting styles into your brain like in The Matrix.

Yeah, everything else, she'd seen other people do, or was a force-powered extension of her own skills. That was just weird.
And it wasn't even hard to do otherwise: Have her locked in a keypad thing, with a guard. She's already seen first hand how Kylo got information out of her and in her head, so she can deduce that the Force can absolutely do that no problem. So she extracts the combination from the guard's mind, and suckerpunches the guard, movie proceeds as normal, Bam, no asspulls necessary.
watching the OT again, then TFA and the prequels. Currently on ANH
I forgot how badly the video jarred when a lightsaber is turned on or off. It must have been a pain in the ass for the actors to stand so still like that. I also noticed that one of those yetis with drinking straw mouths was in mos eisley cantina. I remember there was a Clone Wars episode about their discovery on the planet Senator Chuchi's home moon orbits, I like how they explain all the little details like that in TCW.

Yet even that comparison falls flat. Because while Anakin benefits from insane luck during the attack on the droid control ship, his skill does not magically get any better. The ability to destroy a planet stand to nothing next to the power of the Force. The destruction of the Death Star is the expression of that idea.

Now that the dust has settled, let's rate Rebels seasons.
Season 1 - 6/10. Starts kinda slow, but introduces cool villains and the story improves as season goes on. Strong finale.
Season 2 - 7/10. Becomes more episodic, but gives time to explore non-Jedi characters. While Kallus is downgraded to Grievous level, he's saved by his episode with Zeb. New Inquisitors are not as fun as Inky, sadly. Strong finale.
Season 3 could be the best thing ever, imo. With mature Ezra and all. I hope Filoni will deliver.

Minor changes, less Rey bullshit but yes I completely agree. TFA didn't FEEL like a Star Wars movie even if it mimicked one. I missed those static, long-range establishing shots. One thing I noticed when rewatching it recently was that everywhere, the camera is moving - panning, dollying, zooming, or just plain moving. There are very few 'the camera's just THERE' shots.
I always thought TFA kind of served to get the story Lawrence Kasdan wanted in Return of the Jedi but Lucas didn't.
