Hello Storyteller.

>Yeah, we really do have five+ issues of this left
Okay, now you fucks really need to stop fucking fighting, because it's boring as hell.
>>
>>81531347
Yeah, please let Ewing write New Avengers forever. Rotate in different cast members, I don't care, that book deserves one of those dozens of issues runs everybody used to get.

Black Panther wasn't... amazing? But it was really fucking solid. I'm looking forward to more, absolutely. Great choice for an opening set of problems for T'Challa to deal with, and having a conflict that's not "beat the bad guy" is fantastic.

Haven't checked WWEO.
>>
>>81531347
I haven't read much yet. Superman was better than expected, I think the slog that was SMWW was mostly bringing Tomasi down.

A lot of shit was good, yo. Apollo still flies dick-first into danger, Newvengers was America/10, BP is probably going to be the best BP comic since Priest even though TNC's still got his noob wheels on, and The Fix was fun.

I'm fake-mad that Mik is probably not showing in Midnighter, tho, and the fucking dog in The Fix didn't show up until the last page. FUCKERS

Image has a real wealth of talent lined up there, particularly in artists, but for so much of what was announced today I was just like "Yep, that sounds like an Image book"

Yeah some of the artists are great.

>Glitterbomb by Jim Zub and Djibril Morrisette
A Hollywood horror comic about a middle aged actress out to tear down the Hollywood system down in the most gruesome way possible. Promo image

>Vs by Ivan Brandon and Esad Ribic
a sci-fi series about the shifting demographics and technology of fighting.

>Black Cloud by Ivan Brandon, Greg Hinkle and Matt Wilson
a story that's "Jessica Jones meets Roger Rabbit", set in a world where imagination is literal.

>Winnebago Graveyard by Steve Niles and Alison Sampson
about a family getting stuck in a town of Satanists.

>Horizon, by Juan Gedeon and Brandon Thomas
a sci-fi conspiracy thriller.

>The Hunt by Colin Lorimer

>The Divided States of Hysteria by Howard Chaykin

>>
>>81531347
The Fix.
>>
Oh, also, checked out Miles' book.

Felicia Hardy's heel turn has taken the stupidest move its had yet.

And that is saying something.

Also, once again, Bendis should stop acting like he knows what teenagers are like. And Goldballs joins the supporting cast and Ganke is nuts about him, which... I can actually buy because he's a heavyset dude and you don't get a lot of heroes like that? But it still comes off like Bendis kissing his own ass.
>>
>>81531442
I really wanted to like BP and The Fix and I wasn't super enthused about either.

BP is just going to be like, a decent comic unless it really spirals into something incredible unexpectedly. Serviceable first issue and - that's it.

The Fix is good! Like, objectively, I can look at it and see it's good. But coming off Superior Foes it is too like Superior Foes for me to really get behind.

I liked Midnighter a hell of a lot today. There's a set-up I think I see happening that I really hope doesn't happen though. Ewing continues to just be the guy who you need to give Bendis' role/job/prestige to, goddamn.

Black Widow and Neal Adams' Superman continue to be solid with all the problems you would expect. Same goes for Mark Millar's new SF thing, actually.

Vision continues to be really good.
>>
>>81531581
hah, that's pretty awesome
>>
>>81531589
>Prima by Jan Van Meter and Rick Burchett
about an resistance group/ballet troupe that continues operating post-WWII.

>Rockstar by Joe Harris and Megan Hutchinson
which is a "rock-n-roll" thriller set in a fantasy backdrop.

>Romulus by Bryan Edward Hill and Nelson Blake II
about a secret society responsible for all evil in the world.

>Surgeon X by Sara Kenney and John Watkins, and edited by Karen Berger (!!!)
about a subversive surgeon operating in a world on the brink of medical collapse.

>Kill or Be Killed by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips
which is a "soap opera about murder".

>The Black Monday Murders by Jonathan Hickman and Tomm Coker
about a financial collapse triggered to attain power. Magic is also involved.

>Moonshine by Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso
a story about gangsters and werewolves.

>Motor Crush by Cameron Stewart, Brenden Fletcher and Babs Tarr
sci-fi series about illegal bike races.

>Isola by Brenden Fletcher and Karl Kerschl
which is a fantasy story about two women searching for an island.

>>
>>81531518
They obviously have such an attractive model for creators and like this 'Creators for Creators' grant, that's going to be a prestigious thing. I can't help but see them continue to pull ahead and get some great teams but I do want to see more weird, grand conceptual stuff like 8house from them.

I think a lot of dudes and/or ladies get their complete free reign at Image and think you know - okay! it's a school, or a motorcycle club or a business or whatever! But there's a conspiracy! And it's actually sci-fi/supernatural! I play TTRPGs a bunch and I use random gen a bunch for that: I could easy make a random generator for Image at this point.

That said, talent is still attractive. I'm on board for Surgeon X because of the editor (I also hope it might be like some of the more EXTREME Japanese medical drama stuff - I think I could probably do some self-analysis on how familiarity with manga cuts some of Image's appeal for me).
>>
>>81531526
True, true.

>>81531541
Yeah there's surprisingly little I'm interested in, going by teams and story concepts.
Azz/Risso and Remender/Opena I'm there for, but ehh...

But I'm all for Fletcher having two image books. THe less DC stuff he has, the better.

Hardcore Station is now my official name for a headcanon DC AU which revolves entirely around porn.

Anyone want to help me out with that feel free to ITT. Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are obviously really into ethical, intelligent and meaningful pornography. I guess it helped Batman overcome his intimacy issues? Wonder Woman is a subject of controversy from breaking out of the Amazon's traditional g/g market.

>>
>>81531824
Some of these sound okay but nothing really mind blowing? I'm sure there'll be some good stuff but like... "Moonshiners, with WEREWOLVES!" "Hollywood conspiracy, with VAMPIRES!" "Noir, but they're CARTOONS!" "The world is secretly run by BANKERS!" none of these sound "oh yeah I'll try the #1" interesting, they are "oh yeah I'll try the first trade for 5 bucks" interesting at best

and the Remender/Opena one disappoints personally because the art is good but the character designs are really meh

I hate to sound so down on these but they just seem like standard Image fare

I think Starlin is hit or miss. Conceptually I find nothing wrong with him, but his execution is dull and I want to scream at it for being dull when it doesn't need to be.

But I can also see a Neal Adams' sort of appeal in Starlin's own personal style of writing.

I need to know who I have to kill or sell my soul to for this to happen. He's just, he's so the right guy for it.
>>
>>81532678
As much as I understand Ewing loves being comics as fuck, I'm worried about him burning out. I need him to be the Johns of Marvel for like, 15 years, and bring the 00s renaissance back.

>>

I fear for when Al Ewing becomes an architect - they've only got, what, Bendis left? - and then he has to put up with all of Alonso's horrible ideas and actually make them happen.

Like he's good, but eventually he is going to have to be the one to be in charge of a very stupid event.
>>
>>81532552
Or if not that, then just constant crossovers like Superman and Action have.

As a Supes fan I'm pretty jelly how Batman has a main flagship book and tie ins seem to be their own thing or side stories as opposed to having to read one issue for part 1, another for part 2, etc.

> Venditti: Correct! We open #1 with Sinestro parking Warworld at Sector 0, which is the location of the Green Lantern headquarters, where it’s always been. But with the Green Lantern Corps absent, Sinestro is going to fill that void and take control of the universe. When we open our story, he’s taken over as the police force in the universe and never even had to fire a shot, and this is the story of what happens next. How does Hal reunite with the Corps? How the they come and unseat this uber-powerful Corps of Yellow Lanterns, and restore themselves as the police force of the universe.

Speaking of ringbearers and jobs, I had an idea for Carol. If you'll indulge me for a moment...

After finally being able to take a break from all the Star Sapphire bullshit, she goes home to run her company and make some damn airplanes. However, she soon realizes that Earth's primitive technology means there's no substantial space industry. So, having access to such science, Carol decides to use her SS resources to build a commercial spacecraft, thereby cornering the market.

... I just want Carol to be a superpowered businesswoman, dammit.

I like Perez Wondy a lot, but his Olympians are just so...not Greek gods.

>A clever trick or scientific improvisation was all it took.
Queue barely concealed disgust on the face of Hawkman, who has never known anything but glorious war.

>>
>>81534541
Holy shit, you're right. Why hasn't Carol gotten fuckballs turbo-rich building spaceships yet?
>>
>>81534555
Not like superpowered trashy reality show stars?
>>
>>81534398

That more or less, like why just these X amount of women getting in, stopping at the arbitrary point in time of the moment. I think I also like the society having a blank slate as a starting point and no real like origin?

>>81534555

i'm almost done with the first trade and haven't thought from that perspective, they are kinda too nice.

i liked Trevor looking older and being attacked by a skeleton to crash on the island
>>
>>81534541
Sounds alright, but who is she fucking to get the ring power to build those planes?
>>
So Arrow is officially dead now, I guess.
>>
>>81534639
You tell me, Vendy, you could write in a giant jizzing space penis if you wanted.
>>
>>81534651
They killed Laurel?
>>
>>81534626
>i liked Trevor looking older
I didn't, it was an obvious attempt to get rid of him as a love interest and then they never bothered to get her another one.

They are WAY too nice. There's not enough of the darker aspects in them, or it's shunted completely off onto Ares.
>>
>>81534639
Can't she just masturbate a lot? I mean, self love is still love
>>
>>81534651
F also, she'll just play another Earth's JSA Canary, no big deal

She's powering the ring with her love of transportation technology and money.

There is legit a fictional sci-fi universe where the center of the universe is a giant jizzing space penis.
