Legends works will never return, they're dead.
Individual elements from Legends can and will be re-used extensively, because it's cheaper and easier for Disney to recycle something than it is to make up new shit.
So Star Wars: Dark Forces will never return, but dark troopers easily could. Star Wars: Republic Commando will never be canon, but clone commandos absolutely are, and imperial commandos could totally be a thing.
Legends should not be considered authoritative, but it's not totally irrelevant to the new canon, and it IS relevant to these threads as speculation fuel.
