I'm loving the current rumor of the MCU Spider-Man solo movie being about Jameson hiring the Scorpion to hunt down Spider-Man. I want an awesome climactic battle on top of the Daily Bugle with Spider-Man fighting Scorpion, saving Jameson all while Jonah yells about how Spider-man is a menace destroying the Bugle. That's all you need, Marvel. Perfect movie right there. I expect my check in the mail.
No fucking origin story. Everyone knows who Spidey is and how he got his powers, there is no reason to spend any screen time at all with visuals showing us again.

Basically make it a movie of the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon with some of the more cartoony elements removed. They should build up Norman, and definitely build up the idea that he's fond of Peter, but don't foreshadow the Green Goblin. I don't think Kraven is big enough to be the main villain of the film.
Assuming that they're not going to use someone from the previous films, I like Mr. Negative, Doctor Traveller, or Mysterio as villains. (It would also be neat if Mysterio breaking the rules of magic set in Doctor Strange acting as a neat bit of foreshadowing.)
Since the Marvel films have a good track record of using obscure characters really well and making them big again, I think Traveller has the most potential. He's got a sympathetic backstory.
