Seriously though, I get what you're saying and I know that Middy/Apollo were created as sort of parallels to Bats/Supes, but besides that they really don't have much in common. Midnighter shares more in common with someone like Punisher than he does Batman. The only thing he shares with Batman is a black (and keep in mind Batman's suits are normally mostly gray) costume and a shared fondness for Dick.Grayson, I mean.
Apollo I can understand. Despite not looking much like Superman, they still share a "boy scout" sort of morality. However, Apollo loves punching people just as much as Midnighter and can sometimes be just as sadistic.
I agree that Bats and Supes would be uncomfortable around Middy and Apollo but not because they'd be weirded out by their similarities, but because they're personalities and their approaches to handling villains would not mesh well at all.
