The only interesting thing going on is the person on the radio, and Rick taking Negan's advice. We all know Negan escaping will lead to nothing, and that Magda will ultimately contribute nothing (she hasn't done jack shit in 25+ issues, won't start doing anything now).

Negan literally started a harem through coercion (by my wife, abandon your husband, and you'll be safe), and put a hot iron to the face of the husband if he tresspassed. He started a cult, he is a violent mood-swinger, and he thinks that violence is the way to uphold his rule if someone doesn't do what he says. The guy is evil. Rick is a cunt, but he's not evil.

They take place in present day (to an extent). Where Rick's rule preserves individuality and is more about diplomacy within the community, and being kind to your neighbor so they be kind to you, Negan's rule is about being nice to Negan so Negan don't fuck your shit up.

Kirkman tried so fucking hard to make Negan "deep" and "multi-faceted" it was ridiculous. He'd show him doing like five different horrible things at once and then a panel of him being kinda nice. This is the least subtle ongoing comic I can think of and I read fucking Crossed.

I hate to admit it, but you're right. Under the correct writer (Spurrier, Moore, Gage) it can be a good romp that actually has something more subtle to say (anus pendants notwithstanding).
I have a feeling all these stories Kirkman is pumping out are literally just first drafts that he has to keep working with because he simply doesn't have the time. Other creators take a couple months hiatus to catch up, write a decent second or third draft. Not Robert, though.

Really cool issue and possibly my favourite of this arc so far. Looks like it is indeed Aaron on the cover to next issue and not Pre-time skip Blond Rick like we all thought.
Also Kirkman again teased Andrea getting killed in #160, I don't think he'll do it but maybe a big character will die around then, I honestly see that issue being Negan's death issue. His storyline seems to be wrapping up quite a lot now and his backstory is getting published this summer.

Any theories on where the radio survivor is? I'm going to be pissed if it was all in Eugine's head the whole time, my bet is they could be in the White House, hard to believe they've been in Washington all this time and have never really went there.

That is frankly an idiotic theory.
Jesus and Eugene knew what happened and they've been with Rick for the three years or so(?) One of them would have shut his shit down if they knew what he was going to plan with Paul and I highly doubt they'll side with Rick on that and defend his decision to Hilltop.
Rick is simply using characters that are a liability as canon fodder - look at the guy who betrayed him and Brandon - he could have killed them but gave them another chance (well, before Brandon died by Negan) he know if they fight in the war against the Whispers, they'll die regardless, so his hands will be clean.

Nah, I can see Negan take down a few Whispers that tried to attack him and he demand to talk to Alpha.
Rick said Negan know too much about them, so the information he know he can put to great use - that's why taking them all down seem absurd.
I doubt he'll betray Rick, however. And the cover to #153 is pure coincidence that Michonne and Aaron run into the Whispers and it was unrelated to Negan telling them Rick plan.
