There was a god that created lots of little gods who each created a universe before they all retreated to a single world at the heart of reality to die. This place is called Throne.
Using dark magic, a mortal warlord was able to rip open a gateway to Throne and overthrow the angels that guarded the corpses of the gods. Other warlords arrived shortly after and they turned Throne into the center of creation, linking every world to each other.
They gave the angels a new law to obey and stone bodies to inhabit, they gave demons names and masks so they had permanent forms and they enlisted the aid of the immortal, masterless servants of the gods. It was good for a time.
Then all of the little warlords fell into petty squabbling over power and in the process, the one true king of Throne disappeared. Eventually all that was left of the warring parties were seven godkings, each of them the embodiment of a specific sin and each of them owning a seventh of reality.
Enter Alison, a girl from Earth which is as of yet unconquered and unlinked to Throne by a gate. A strange man who reveals himself to be the one true king shoves the key to all creation into her forehead and thrusts her into the corrupt, decaying world of Throne. Her allies include a shortstack demon with the hots for her and a disillusioned angel going through a gender crisis. The comics are about her adventures and her true name/destiny, 'Kill Six Billion Demons.'
Just read it from start to finish. It'll make sense then.

Shenanigans happen, blah blah blah, bitch has now decided that all this shit is fucking bananas and doesn't want any part of it, so she's trying to talk to one of the seven other people in the multiverse who have these forehead things in order to broker a deal on getting her fuckboi back, going home, and not having to do any of this selfless prophecy shit she's apparently been drafted into.
