If you haven't played the first Lego Marvel, it's pretty cool. If you have, it's more of the same, really. The story missions in the first one are better, though. It's still just a lot of gates, but they are designed with kids in mind.
Bunch of cool MCU references, if that's your thing. Most of the character locomotion and just running around is pretty cool.

This game is still a dissapointment for me.
Lego Marvel was so fucking amazing. It was a joy to behold and you could see the love that went into that cast.
But beyond a few cool notes (devil dinosaur and fing fang foom come to mind) so much of this feels like company mandate to only advertise for available mcu shit. And that really bummed me out.
No mutants, no F4, not spider-man. For all the improvements this game brought to the formula it was hintered by the movie shit. And the lack of original goofy story or deadpool narrated side missions was just depressing.
I remember when lego batman 3 came out i was psyched cos even though im a marvelfag it meant i could ride around gotham in the batmobile or leap on rooftops as nightwing. but then that one wasnt fucking open world (it had those sphere worlds though but no open cities for driving and flying around in that had interesting shit. just one little rocky spot for driving.)
Then this game came out and ugh goddamn mcu advertisement.
It feels like nothing will quite be on the same level as that first lego marvel game.

Lego Marvel was filled to the brim with movieshit too. You could count the characters not in movies (MCU and non-MCU productions) or Ultimate Spider-Man in one hand.

Huh, Kang the Conqueror and Wonder Man are availabe in the Captain Marvel DLC, and most of the Masters of Evil are in their own DLC (they were glaring omissions in the main game, but now everyone I wanted is in).

Nigga the movie isn't out for a while. All TT knew was that they were to push Carol, so they just used KSD. Why would a LEGO video game be indicative of how a movie three years away is going to be?
The one major thing I didn't like about the 'Classic' Captain Marvel DLC is that Carol is literally the opposite of the classic Captain Marvel.
In her first appearance someone else was Captain Marvel, there's been at least half a dozen other people that have taken the title before her, and she's the most recent one.
