I think his movies are pretty great if you can accept them as deliberately silly homages to the 1960s Batman series. I think it's pretty likely too because Schumacher is openly gay, and he was going to art school when the 1960s Batman series was on air, and the 1960s Batman series is iconic in the gay community, and Andy Warhol (who was gay, and an artist in the 60s) drew influence from it.
