Actually you need a lot of strength to do any of that shit. Classic Cass has often been depicted as a bit overmuscled to make her more believable. And Cass is supposed to constantly do things that are way beyond any real human. She already stretches suspension of disbelief in her default (adult) state. Turning her into an actual child means something has to give. Either she has to become weaker (which is shit) or she risks becoming so unbelievable that even her fans can't buy her feats anymore (also a bad thing).
All of this could have been avoided if they just dropped her into the Nu52 world as a straight copy of herself without tacking on gimmicks. But that would have been giving people what they want, and DC don't play like that.
