This was such a great show. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It's a shame that it didn't catch major popularity and ended up being cancelled early. What went wrong with this show?

It was an animated sitcom aimed at adults that got trapped on a network full of very young-skewing toy cartoons. It could have been a huge hit on FOX or Adult Swim.
Elise's job was awful. Her secret spy ninja shit was completely out of place and just a drag.

Yeah. I honestly can't believe some of the stuff they managed to get away with considering that this show was on The Hub. The entire Animal Shelter episode was fucking gold.

The issue is that it was a black sheep among shows that were clearly meant for the younger crowd. Dan Vs. was quite mature despite the channel it was aired on.
And I don't mean to say that other shows on the channel weren't mature, but Dan Vs. was about adults and adult-ish antics whereas the others were about fantasy characters of no discernible age.
This is where "I'm so fresh you could suck my nuts" came from, wasn't it?
