I am fully confident in being maybe the only human being on earth who actually seems to like Quentin Quire.
I've always thought he was a great character. this arrogant little shit going through growing pains in the worst possible way. Rebelling constantly and trying to seem like he doesnt care but so very clearly caring way too much about how he is perceived.
I always thought they were building the character up as a future caretaker for the school if not the x-men themself. The future phoenix version of him even chuckles when asked by Quentin when he gets out of the school. As if to imply he never really leaves it. And i thought 'okay thats awesome' because it seemed like they were gonna have him go from rebelling against the institution to loving it in his own obnoxious rebellious way and wanting to preserve it and what it stands for.
But it turns out the only fucker who wrote the character in a way that seemed to lead toward that was Jason Aaron.
His run on wolverine and the x-men is another thing i dont find many others liking. but it is probably the last x book run i really enjoyed along with remenders uncanny x-force.
man its been half a decade since an x-men run ive liked has been started and neither of them were x-men or uncanny x-men.
Being an x-men fan sucks these days.

Only read a few issues, but I thought they were fun little revenge stories. I've heard her mentioned a few times, but have never heard anyone say outright that they liked her. Could be because the writers had the creative skill of teenagers, like many other 90's comic writers.

Peter Davids ongoing with him as Captain Marvel was fucking fantastic. For those unfamiliar its essentially this cosmic being who is driven mad because he has this cosmic awareness he isnt prepared for that lets him understand all of reality to some degree but every choice he makes has all these ripple effects down the line or pulls him in two directions causing him to make sacrifices.
like one is i think the choice to save this race from destruction. but if he does wars will continue and start up again. but if he doesnt and allows the people to be destroyed i think it causes someone to rise up so that in generatons there will be an even greater peace. So he has to choose with shit like that. Shit that involves thousands or millions or even billions of lives all in his hands. And it drives him absolutely fucking insane and he becomes this twisted cosmic god like being with power over reality itself. And hes bonded with rick jones who when he clicks his bracelets together is replaced by captain marvel and exists in some universe inside genis vell or some shit. But now hes stuck in there trying to convince this mad god hes unleashed not to commit acts of depravity and galactic genocide.

Triathlon had a great fifteen minutes of fame during SI.
